27 yr old mile world record taken down today......
Not sure if anyone cares, but as someone who's been following the sport for decades, this was amazing.
Didn't like Josh Kerr at first, being a trash talker (vs Ingebrigtsen etc). But this Scotsman has certainly earned all the respect now. Taking down a Hicham el Guerrouj record that has stood since 1999. 3:27 split at 1500 when the world record there is by the same guy decades ago at 3:26.
Only a few old records left now, especially on the womens' side - but it's getting close.
Fk, the U.K has always produced gods at these distances. Remember watching Sebastian Coe's training vids and read papers by Tom McKean.

@mattLondon4131302 ran 4:36 at 6'0 and 206lbs.
The twink in the OP probably weighs 130lbs which makes it not count.

And yeah to me it doesn't count.... Not legit... Fake record.. Fake event.. Fake height and weight correlation.......... It just comes down to somehow sports evading me.. Something in that terminology..> ETC... Not making a fucking penny and setting all of these unofficial WRs that nobody gives a fuck about and at the same time looking hot as fuk...

It took them a scientifically designed shoe, which took 2 seconds off the time, and a full 27 years later just to break it.. Combined with tracks that give about a 1 second differential in times due to being made harder now to create more bounce.....
So add in the track factor of 1 second and that 99 time of 3:43 goes to 3:39.93.......
I mean good effort though.. But the 99 guy is WAY faster....
