What kind of society are you trying to build with laws that are allowed to be broken?

Oh no my wife left i better get drunk, speed and swerve my car in traffic..i hope the officer gives me a break.

Victim impact statements are a normal thing in sentencing trials. Especially when it comes to violent crime.

Yes but not the extent in which Judge Rosemarie Aquilina is doing

Nassar did some absolutely, god awful horrifying things and deserves to be raped in jail till he's skeletor..but she's making an absolute mockery of the courts.

Judge Aquilina isn't presiding over this sentencing. Her case was closed a week ago.

I'm not sure what you're argument is. Are you saying that the judge in THIS trial shouldn't allow victim impact statements.... because another judge allowed them in a different trial?

Who said anything about being drunk? You can have a bad day and just zone out and not pay attention to how you are driving.

What kind of world would we have if no one ahowed any leniency. Kids do dumb chit all the time, do we let them off with a warning and community service or throw them in jail. Your 17 has a fake id and uses it to sneak into a club, show leniency bc first time or throw the book at them?

Laws aren’t meant to be broken but they are bendable pending circumstances.
