Yeah, that's what the thread is about. It's called 'boxing' and not 'fighting' for a reason. It's a sport, not human cock fighting.

Wouldnt Mayweather also have lost his speed?

If he was running, it was up to Pacquiao to catch him, don't blame Mayweather because Manny wasn't good enough.

guessing you didnt see the fight or you wouldnt post such BS.

mw was relying on a couple of jabs to score the points in between his running and hugging which was every 20 secs or less. when pacquiao went into to box mw would just hug him. or run away around the ring. this was every single time pacquiao came in. ref did nothing.

you said it was up to pacquaio to catch him? yeah that worked with him getting hugged every other moment. and since the fight was years late the strategy fell perfect for mw and his hugging bs.

i didn't care who won. just wanted to see a good fight. didn't happen.

Ali, Foreman or Louis > Floyd.
It's more exciting watching the heavy's, instead if some 148 lbs fighter.

But Floyd is amazing and people saying otherwise are straight up retarded.
Espesically calling him a pussy etc. he would knock the fuk out of 99.9% of people.

If anyone could do it, don't you think they would?
He was the best paid athlete by far lmao, but yeah, everyone can do it.

If you wanna see a good fight, watch Rocky.. This is real life, Mayweather wants to leave the ring with the belt, a lot of money and no brain damage. I'd say he did a great job.

You don't know the basics of boxing which are footwork, elusiveness, ducking punches, counterattacks and defensive finesse.Clinching is also a part of boxing, it's like the time outs in hockey or football, it is perfectly legal, he only found a way to use everything boxing had to offer in his advantage.Mayweather is a technical genius and his boxing abilities are a delight for those who understand boxing. If you ever stepped once in a ring you would have realized how hard it is to box like he does, it takes major skill.

''BRB he ran the whole fight'', all the replays show him dodging punches and connecting with his right hand.

Yes you don't know chit about boxing and you're just repeating what everyone else is saying to sound smart.

The fact is that pacquiao didn't want to get random blood testing.
Lol @ Mayweather for refusing to step on the ring with a fighter that is on PED.
Manny pacquiao' decline is mostly due to him laying off PED around 2010 with fighters requiring random blood testing and pressured into that. Since that he's never had any KOs.
I like manny, but anyone closely involved in the boxing world will tell you that he was on PED

No, he was a great boxer. Boxing isn't fighting, it's boxing. You made a point saying he hasn't fought as many big-name fighters as other boxers have, but to say he's not a good boxer because boxing does not 'properly resemble real fighting' is just weird.

It's illegal toholda clinch, something that neither boxers did in that video.

In case you missed it, Mosley was trying to clinch just as much as MW, MW is just better at it and even deliberately lets him tie up his arms so he can shoot under a few times. Hell, the video literally starts out with Mosley escaping a corner by ducking a punch and moving into a clinch, lol

You know why Manny slowed down and why Floyd never slowed down? Because Floyd is the superior boxer and never took any hits that impacted his physical ability.

Floyd is 40 years old and made Manny look like the one who was older. Thanks for proving that Floyd's fight IQ is higher than Manny's

- First man to stop Hall of famer and world champ..Genaro Hernandez
- TKO'ed undisputed lightweight champ and HOF'er Chico Corrales
- Beat one of the best LW's in boxing history Jose Castillo TWICE
- Dominated Hall of Famer Arturo Gatti in a sweep
- Slept former World Champ Ricky Hatton
- Beat one of the best of all time in Oscar De La Hoya
- Ran through Zab Judah
- Showed his courage and heart by coming back from almost getting knocked out by Shane Mosley, and dominating him the next 12 rounds
- Beat Canelo, Pacman, Berto, Guerrero, Maidana, and Coto in his last few fights.

for ****s suck, Canelo just KTFO of a beast in Amir Khan and Berto put Ortiz to sleep.

This mans track record is outstanding, and the fact that he was in his late thirties as a lighter fighter and still smooth is incredible.

Anyone who says this man isn't the GOAT is a liar. 20-30 years ago the top guys had 70-0 records before losing cause all of the people they fought were cans. Floyd has been fighting the best for the last 10 years.
In the 1960's boxing expanded from 8 weight classes to 17.

The WBC wasn't founded until 1963
The WBA " 1962
IBF " 1983
WBO " 1988

So obviously there would be more champions to beat nowdays when comparing to the GOAT SRR

Don't indulge these *******s.

Floyd proved he was a fighter when Shane buckled the sht out of him and had him on the verge of being knocked out. It takes a true fighter to recover and go on to DOMINATE the rest of the fight.

Sugar Ray Leonard himself said that he knew Floyd could dominate in any era because of the heart and will he showed in that fight.

If Sugar Ray Leonard says it, than its FACT

I guess you're referring to HOLDING a clinch after the referee calls for a break. Unfortunately there is nothing in the rulebook that says that a referee must call for a break in order for that rule to take effect. It's all discretionary, and I see it a violation of the rules... but that's just me.

Boxers hit harder because they're wearing gloves.....

If you smack a skull bare fisted you're probably going to break your hand mane. With gloves on the concussive force is still there but your hands are protected.

There weren't many fatalities in the bare knuckle days as people would go for body shots. Once gloves came in they were belting each other around the head and the corpses started piling up.

Thats just the Nevada state athletic commission. If mayweather and mosely were fighting for belts, their rules would come into play. and usually they have rules on EXCESSIVE clinching.

Clinching isn't illegal. Many world champions are known for this: Bernard Hopkins, Wladimir Klitschko.

The clinch is part of the defensive arsenal that you need to use in proper situations.
If you clinch to get work inside no ref is ever gonna stop that.
If you clinch to get a rest, ref will call for a break, if you never do any work and only kill the action the ref will take out points.
From the ref's perspective it's easy to see when a fighter is using clinch to waste time.

In the conversation for sure, but there's a few more names I'd put above him.

SRR, Ali, Louis, Armstrong etc
A young bull and an old bull were standing atop a hill looking at a bunch of heifers in a field below.

The young bull says "Let's run down this hill and fuk one of those heifers."

The old bull replies "No. Let's walk down there, and fuk them all."

Mayweather vs Mosely was a hold. And a blatant one.
Round 10

Klitschko holding.

I've also seen ref's take points away from excessive clinching.

Don't know what you're trying to get at. We're talking about Mayweather being p4p.
You can make a new thread discussing the clinching in boxing and that would be a good thread.
Unless you're trying to discredit Mayweather's career because of clinches ? I wouldn't think so that would be stupid because it's perfectly legal.
