"Base-stealers in 2023 have been successful almost 80% of the time (78.8%, to be precise). That's on target to be the highest stolen-base success rate in the history of MLB".

Imagine if the NL playoffs started today

1. Braves
Bye

2. Backs
Bye

3. Brewers
6. Pirates

4. Dodgers
5. Marlins

It's wishful thinking but if we could kick the Dodgers out before October this would be a refreshing list of teams. Giants making a run to bump them would work nicely.

I pay to go to the games because it is the gf's fav team, and i love baseball.
They have enough fans to root for the current AAA major league team.

Our pitching is weak and even though we are close to AZ we can't beat the good teams right now.

He's a Braves fan which probably explains why he's so vocally hating the Nats right now.

Honestly if I moved to SF for example I would probably go to Giants games and take an interest in them even though I'd stay a Braves fan. When I was in Dallas I went to Rangers games, so I get it. Especially if it's a team that's not in your favorite teams division.

I doubt I could ever start going to Nats, Phillies, Mets, or Marlins games though. But if I lived near one of those stadiums, the Braves play at each of them enough I would still be able to go to plenty of Braves games on the road so that's what would probably end up happening in those situations.

I've been to Citi, Citizens, and Nats stadium to watch Braves road games over the years. I think Truist is better than all of them. No homer, cause Turner Field was worse than all of them lol. Just a product of a new stadium is my guess. Truist's pavilion outside the stadium is just super nice so the environment is just better than those others because of it.

Out of the rival stadiums though I liked Citizens the best. None of them were bad stadiums. I did not enjoy riding the subway to get to Citi though. That has nothing to do with the stadiums themselves though, I just generally hate public transportation. Probably a southern thing cause we just drive everywhere.

Can't say I've ever been inclined to watch the Braves play the Marlins in an empty stadium though haha

What a wild night of underdogs cleaning up in baseball tonight. A's, Tigers, Rockies. Wow.
All it takes is Mookie Betts, Steph Curry, and Joe Burrow all sitting in the same car in order for one drunk driver to make the world a significantly better place.

Iglesias is trash.

Pretty sure no one since Kimbrel has been able to have success in that role. You'll see the same guys dominate the 8th inning, then you slide them to the 9th and they implode. Iglesias and Minter the most recent examples of that. Iglesias was untouchable last year; get rid of Jansen and he slides in to close and it's been a disaster. Minter was also dealing a couple years ago as a set-up, then they moved him to close and he couldn't handle it.

Iglesias? Trash
Jansen? Trash.
Will Smith? Trash (though he had a hell of a run to secure the WS win, so kudos for getting it together when it mattered)
2019 Minter? Trash
2015-2018 the entire team was trash so it didn't matter
2014 = Kimbrel

It is funny how MLB is the only professional sport to operate by itself for a certain amount of time in a given year. You probably wouldn't know that from ESPN since all they talk about is NFL/NBA/NWSL 93.9% of the time, but interesting regardless.

ESPN might as well change their name to Black Sports Network. They only cover sports blacks care about. NHL and MLB get like the bare minimum coverage from that network. I haven't turned them on in over a decade now.

The best hitter in baseball is a black man playing for the Yankees. MLB interest is just too regional for these national circuit shows unfortunately. New Yorkers don’t care about the Texas Rangers and people in LA don’t care about Tampa Bay. NHL has been getting much more coverage since it went back to airing games on ESPN.

Also, ESPN is trash anyway. A ton of other networks/podcasts out there for consuming balanced sports discussion

Bochy in Texas is a very interesting story since the team has underperformed in previous years with Seager and Semien.

Sorry bro it's not 2022 any more. Ronald Acuna is the best player in 2023. Baseball rotates and there hasn't really been a consistently best hitter for multiple seasons probably since Trout's prime years.

Acuna is on a STACKED team. Aaron Judge single-handedly carries the dog**** Yankees team.

As a Giants fan this was the must watch series and the Dodgers are in bad shape this year; plus we came in hot (8-2 in the last 10)

btw the only team not playing along in June is the Texas Rangers.....

A coincidence that one woke ph aggot city swept another? I doubt it. San Francisco probably loved the ceremony as much as Los Angeles.

You realize it was because Murphy got hurt on Saturday and the Braves had no backup catcher and needed to make a move to bring back Chadwick Tromp on Sunday, right?

You can't just send down someone else if they don't have options or you actually need them. Culberson was the odd man out. F*cking retard.

They actually waited as long as they could to see if Murphy would be game ready on Sunday but when the morning rolled around the decision had to be made. Maybe get the full context next time before bashing teams as classless.

Feels like Déjà vu and the NY Mets all over again.

Hire a sexy manager (Showalter), sign big free agents (Seager, DeGrom), take over 1st place somewhat surprisingly.

Crash and burn

Weird how you, as a Giants fan, tried to argue his point.

I mean a normal fan probably would've acknowledged how badly the Dodgers got destroyed, but it almost seemed like you felt the need to excuse them.

Weird how you, as a Giants fan, tried to argue his point.

I mean a normal fan probably would've acknowledged how badly the Dodgers got destroyed, but it almost seemed like you felt the need to excuse them.
As Logan Web said, "we are only at game 70 so you don't get to excited, and you don't read too much into it."
As a financial advisor would say....cautiously optimistic.

lmao,"you felt the need to excuse them"

"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."
