I did watch the fight.

Well he obviously lost to both men, but stil I think he's right that in terms of power Froch might be superior (I mean he took punches from both men he knows better than you and me)

That was a bunch of bull**** Jean pascal said before the second fight. He did this to get in Kov's head. Obvioulsly this is not true, Kovalev knocked the **** out of him the third round knocking Pascal down for the first time in his career and basically out. The second fight, he would have killed him if it would have gone 12. Freddy said that Pascal would have been seriously hurt if the fight would have continued.

Even in his post fight press conference when he was asked if Kovalev was the hardest puncher he faced he still said no, he's behind Froch and guess who else he did name? (Artur Beterbiev who beat kovalev twice in the amateur and this match up is probably the best one you could have in 2017-2018)

Pascal got dismantled against Kovalev because not only he punches hard, he's an excellent boxer and has amazing technique. That's what particularly scary for Ward.
Froch might hit harder than Kovalev according to pascal, but he's the 1/5th of Kovalev in terms of boxing IQ.

According to Kovalev there was politics that Was involved in the Beterbiev fights:

"It's interesting that he says he beat me at something. What is it a dream of something? We met twice [in the amateurs], where in the first two rounds Beterbiev's head was touching his ass, and then in the third and fourth rounds - when I was tired - he could not do anything with me. All of his punches struck air, as if he was doing shadow boxing. The entire Russian team will confirm what happened in Kislovodsk," Kovalev said.

"And the second time [we met] was in the Russian championships and the judges gave him the victory as I had no support behind me and I was fighting on my own against an entire corrupt commission in Magnitogorsk. So there is no need to mislead people, Artur. First earn a fight with me, and then I will punish you. And no more wishful thinking. As of today, you even refused to fight Chilemba and that shows that you're scared."

Beterbiev probably hits harder than Kovalev. Froch.... not a shot in hell!

Kovalev-Beterbiev is probably the best match up.

Beterbiev is a monster, 10 fights, 10 KOs, including a destruction of Tavoris Cloud.
I can't wait for Beterbiev to become mandatory for kovalev, that would be a crazy fight.
Apparently Beterbiev knocked Jean Pascal out in sparing.

Edit: Look desperately for that fight between Kovalev and Beterbiev in the amateurs can't seem to find that video

Why not? It's a legit reason. Especially when you consider the clinic Floyd put on him in their 2nd fight. The difference in their 1st and 2nd fights goes to show that Floyd had some kind of ailment that hindered him. Though it doesn't matter. I agree this fight should have gone to Castillo..but at the end of the day...Floyd got this win back legitametly

It doesn't exist. Neither does Kovalev vs Boone I.

Kovalev did get knocked out in the amateurs by a glorious left hook.

What's your take on Adonis vs Kovalev?

I'd say Kovalev. Adonis has a dynamite left hand, but thats about it. His chin is weak. He was KOd by Boone and hurt badly by Fonfara (who is a glorified Super Middleweight). Who do you got?

Mayweather is obviously a great boxer. if you try to box him you will look stupid (ie. Canelo, JMM). I think that Maidana showed how it would be possible to beat Mayweather. Maidana wasn't an elite fighter. His biggest win was against an overrated and undersized Adrien Broner, but he did get to mayweather and landed some really good shots. If you put an elite Pressure like Golovkin that is much bigger than Mayweather in the ring with him, Mayweather won't be able to counterpunch with pot shots and stop GGG's offense like he does with all of the welterweights.

I think in the end GGG's power will be too much to handle. Especially his power to the body. I would bet on GGG by KO.

Would fighters with a great Jab beat mayweather? Maybe. Tommy Hearns vs Mayweather would have been an EPIC fight.

Mike Tyson was short and stocky and heavyweights would often tower over him. However, he would use his disadvantages to his advantage, and with blistering hand speed and dynamite in both hands, destruction was inevitable.

Tyson stopped 26 of his first 28 opponents by KO/TKO, 16 of them within the first round. Just 4 months after turning 20, he was given a world title shot and snatched it with ease after destroying Trevor Berbick in the 2nd round.

Tysons reign of terror would continue for the next 4 years before the evils of fame and fortune took its toll, and from that point on, it was a downward spiral and his form was never truly the same.

In his prime, Tyson would pump fear into his opponents because of his outstanding hand speed, accuracy, coordination, power, and timing, not to mention his menacing image. A master of mind games, most of Tysons opponents lost the fight before a single punch was even landed.

These days, the once Baddest Man on the Planet is a family man, actor and stand-up comedian, a complete turnaround compared to his boxing days. However, no one will ever forget the fear and excitement that Tyson generated within the heavyweight division.

i didn't care who won. just wanted to see a good fight. didn't happen.
You're a complete ****ing moron, whats the ref supposed to do? "Hold up floyd stand still and let him punch you!" No. Boxing is about hitting the other person while not getting hit yourself and he does exactly that and also happens to be the best in the world at doing just that. I understand you may not find it as entertaining as watching someone like Anthony Joshua KO someone in the first round but Floyd is the undisputed best boxer at least of our generation.

His ducking and dodging was minimal. Look at Ali and his speed.
His counter punches were very good. I will not take that away from him.
He abused the clinch in many of his later fights. brb ref has to break it up every 15 seconds.
"Connecting" punches doesn't mean chit if your opponent doesn't feel them. He hasn't had a knockout in years
He may have won all his fights and been successful but he was a shame to boxing and showed just how many flaws there are within the judging system.

Again you just assume I know chit about boxing but you know nothing about me.
A professional boxer who never lost has weak punches. If that boxer tried to he totally couldn't have more knockouts.

You do realize you sound like a fking idiot right?

49-0 is amazing no doubt but there are also other undefeated boxers and then there are records like Julio Cesar Chavez's 115-107 who chit on gayweather
You mention that Floyd is only good at getting points and picking fights, then mention Julio Cesad Chavez. You do realize that 90% of his fights were against taxi drivers?

He lost to Sweet Pea. Mexican boxers simply don't have what it takes to fight black boxers.

Maidana didn't do anywhere near as good as Zab Judah. It may appear that pressure fighters do good against Floyd, but most of their punches hit glove and back.

IMO anybody who knows anything about boxing has to know Floyd is in that discussion for GOAT, I personally think he's the best ever.

Granted his style's not for everybody, but nobody can deny it's effectiveness.

If it was as easy to do as people try and make it seem, wouldn't somebody have stepped up by now and got that money?

He doesn't have that KO power like when he was younger but the guy has world class reflexes (amazing considering his age), and insane worth ethic.

So it's not like "oh what Floyd does is so easy, others fighters don't want to cause they're too cool", it's that nobody else can fight in that style to anything even approaching that level.
The billionaire and the beggar both have 24 hours in a day.

That's why grandma's apple pie rocks and yours sucks.

He's one of the best of all-time in the weight classes he fought in if we're looking at it objectively.

But....Floyd was a more complete boxer and more enjoyable to watch before he changed up his style and switched to Grant gloves (probably other gloves, too before he used Grants exclusively) to protect his hands. He stopped knocking guys out because he had continuous hand problems. Watch his old fights--he used to wear Reyes gloves--a puncher's glove. He was a wrecking machine when he was at 130 lbs. But, the hand injuries were the impetus to him changing up his style and becoming more of a defensive, pot-shot master and counter puncher. The last 10 years of his career he was basically a 'decision' fighter. The last good beatdown he had was the Gatti fight. The Ortiz fight was an anomaly. Quite frankly, I found the last 10 years of his career to be boring because I remember how electric he was when he was younger. Most so-called boxing "fans" or Mayweather "fans" never even heard of Mayweather before the Gatti fight. When Mayweather was coming up, he was a phenom. Lightning in a bottle. It's just too bad his hands couldn't hold up. Great fighter though.
