Just saw the score in the All Star game. What a pathetic joke.

Just let all the players go out and do dunks and shoot, but don't call it a game anymore.

Even the dunk contest was terrible.

NBA literally gifting the Heat a win tonight with their officiating today. It's like they try to reinforce certain tropes like that "Heat culture" nonsense whenever they can.
All it takes is Mookie Betts, Steph Curry, and Joe Burrow all sitting in the same car in order for one drunk driver to make the world a significantly better place.

LeBron is about to pass 40k points today.. Insane the level of longevity, and sustained greatness.

Dude is about to put that record so far out there it won't ever be touched. He already has a record that will never be broken, most consecutive 10+ points games.

To put it in perspective, if you removed Lebrons entire rookie season point total, Luka Doncic IS STILL behind him in terms of cumulative points at the same point in their careers

40k points with 10k assists is likely never going to be broken. That’s a record that’ll last forever

I think if the league's scoring output at least maintains this trajectory/pace, someone out there definitely could. If they make the rules that cater less to offense then probably no. It would take 50 years minimum for this record to be broken when Lebron retires. Will take a guard/forward from high school or a one-and-done who can average around 20 and 10 or close to it straight out the gate with longevity, can make threes and isn't injured. That's the hardest part rather than the scoring/assists itself. I think Wemby/Jokic/Doncic are on their way to make history in some way, a player will definitely come along IMO that puts up crazy stats for a long time.

The longevity just won’t be there combined with the high output

Near MVP scoring for 20 years, think about that

I am willing to bet no one beats it ever

It'd have to be wayyy more than simply 20/10 right out the gate... Someone would need to average 30+ for a career, while also never getting hurt, while still playing 75+ games a year for 20 years.

That's just not happening unless they decide to put a 4pt line

Luka is already behind Lebrons trajectory.. if you remove Lebrons entire rookie season point total Luka is still behind him. Wemby isn't gonna play enough games and already on load management and would need to average 35+ for 17 years to get to 40k right now.

Which is even the crazier thing.... LeBron isn't gonna be done, he's probably gonna finish with 43-45k points

I completely agree. All Star Weekend is a joke these days. We're not in the 80's and 90's anymore. Those guys wanted to compete in every part of the game.

Also Luka is a pussy. I just saw earlier he apparently got a fan ejected from a game for calling him a fatty and telling him to get on a treadmill.
Never been a Lebron fan, but I can recognize his greatness. That said, he's had numerous people kicked out of games for saying stuff.

lebron averaged 20 points and like 5 assists his rookie season. so 20/10 is already a head start.

if somebody is to do it at the moment it would be Luka. Unlikely but who knows. But I think lately we've just seen an explosion of just straight up unique talent. Joker, Luka and Wemby come to mind. I think we will continue to see unique talents as basketball develops all over the world so seeing somebody of Lebron's mold who can top what he's doing isn't out of he question IMO.

Unless of course down the line they change the rules that limits offense. Or maybe they reduce the games or something per season.

They essentially already have reduced the games. The games now are far more taxing on NBA players due to the defensive space they have to cover. So that means "load managing" players throughout the year and not having them play 80+ a season.

They'd need to average more than 20 cause they aren't coming straight out of HS anymore. Even Brons 20 out of HS was insane cause previous to him in this era only KG averaged 10+ and I believe it was only 11 PPG.

Bron is essentially tied for 3rd all time in terms of scoring, a handful of players stuck at 27+, so someone would need to be essentially MJ but play for as long as LeBron and never get hurt.. plus theyd need to actually want to play that long, have the desire to.

LeBron has more points than Magic and Larry combined. Just don't see it happening in our lifetime

This has to have been written by a Zoomer or just plain ol' LebronStan.

The hand checking and physicality of the game during the 80's and 90's made it FAR MORE physically taxing than the game today.

There is no defense played in today's game and triple doubles don't mean anything, scores average at 120, and there were several people with 70+ points scored this season.

What a moronic post

More and more players that can spread the floor means covering a lot more of the court, a lot more cutting and sprinting. Those jarring motions over and over are what wear players down. Not getting knocked to the ground by a 240 pound center lol

It’s absolutely more taxing today than it was in the 80s/90s but then again we know a lot more about strength/conditioning/recovery now too and there are better PEDs for players to use

You are wrong, so wrong. I'll gladly take sprinting and juking and cutting as that won't wear me down at all but a big aggressive defence will destroy you mentally along with physically.
I hate playing against a chippy defender who won't leave my hip and non stop contact.

so many little men in here who never played high level basketball or football such as myself.

lol it's hard running around is your excuse? That's what soccer players do.

Over the course of years it’s definitely the sprinting and cutting that wears down your knees/hips over time

Why do you think Jordan and Lebron played less defense in their older years?

Soccer players are tiny they aren’t massive like football and basketball players

But.... Alot of the previous defenders are tiny compared to the current players. People really think that the "Bad Boys" Piston style defense was commonplace lol. Go watch some game film from the 80's-90's... The defense is horrific. Players can't use their left hands, and even then still get blown by.

How do you think guys like Wemby and Chet would do in the 80's and 90's? Yeah, they're big, but would get broken by those guys. It's just a different league. The rules have changed the kind of players that are coming into the league.

The way dribbling rules and defensive fouls are enforced now days makes it much easier to dribble with your off hand. Refs used to just blow the whistle on any type of dribbling move if it looked to flashy. Ded srs

This was more of Bucks issue than anything. Lakers were horrible until late.. Bucks were up 19 in the 4th before the Bucks had a pretty epic collapse. Lakers shot 39% from the floor and 31% from 3 lol, just bad all around and STILL got the win.

Dame was 9/29 lol. Just horrible, 3/14 from 3

Giannis was 1/6 from the FT line
