27 yr old mile world record taken down today......

Not sure if anyone cares, but as someone who's been following the sport for decades, this was amazing.

Didn't like Josh Kerr at first, being a trash talker (vs Ingebrigtsen etc). But this Scotsman has certainly earned all the respect now. Taking down a Hicham el Guerrouj record that has stood since 1999. 3:27 split at 1500 when the world record there is by the same guy decades ago at 3:26.

Only a few old records left now, especially on the womens' side - but it's getting close.

Fk, the U.K has always produced gods at these distances. Remember watching Sebastian Coe's training vids and read papers by Tom McKean.

Jesus. That's a sub 14 second 100 meter time for a mile straight.

@mattLondon4131302 ran 4:36 at 6'0 and 206lbs.

The twink in the OP probably weighs 130lbs which makes it not count.

Good job. You're somewhat learning.. He was around 165 though...

And yeah to me it doesn't count.... Not legit... Fake record.. Fake event.. Fake height and weight correlation.......... It just comes down to somehow sports evading me.. Something in that terminology..> ETC... Not making a fucking penny and setting all of these unofficial WRs that nobody gives a fuck about and at the same time looking hot as fuk...

Yet again he might have all that steroid residue on him from the UK now.. The UK has a steroid infestestation problem since they legalized it.. Just touching a door now over there would probably lead to somewhat a higher test level where the previous steroid user touched a door.. This guy looks natural though... I don't see the 3D shoulder or any type of enlarged inner shoulder varicose vein... Looks like all hard work.. But still a scam overall due to previous said statements....

The fucked part about it though is the 99 time if that guy would have ran with the shoes they run with now would have ran about a 3:40.93... LOL...... I made fun of them on LetsRun for 13 years straight since 2013 for not being able to break this WR...

It took them a scientifically designed shoe, which took 2 seconds off the time, and a full 27 years later just to break it.. Combined with tracks that give about a 1 second differential in times due to being made harder now to create more bounce.....

So add in the track factor of 1 second and that 99 time of 3:43 goes to 3:39.93.......

I mean good effort though.. But the 99 guy is WAY faster....

A guy broke the mile WR yesterday at 6'2 and 165 LBS.... Add 41 LBS weight vest on and try to run a minute faster....

Not going to happen....

I did the math on it.. If I had wanted to stay at that 205 LB range and run this at 35 years old.. Which didn't because i quit doing them in like 2002-04..... Way too young...We're talking like something like the equivalent of a 4:14 mile at 6'0 and 205 LBS...Which is absolutely fucking ridiculous....

Would have blown away any so called heavy miler doing the deadlift at the same time of like 550 for 1..

Since I was deadlifting over 550 for 1 at the same time... Have fun competing with that...And that's the mile... That 4:14 mile translates to a 3:58 fucking 1500 and a 550 for 1 deadlift in the same day...You all have absolutely no clue the level of fitness levels you're dealing with here with me.. It's really fun and really gullible and naive to watch it work and somehow literally think that anyone could compete with me in this...

Oh and to top it off.. The so called unofficial WR holder in this event some Vegas guy on steroids ran 4:49 and deadlifted 500 on the same day.. And all around the world they are calling him the WR holder in that event..When I found his insta and youtube he was clueless... Didn't even know that I had already previous broken his so called Unofficial WR in 2020, way back in 2002 as a joke and ran that time against myself with nobody to push me.. LOL....

He won't respond on Insta.. He's pissed.. Well not my problem. Maybe he should have not taken fucking steroids his entire life due to his inner shoulder 3D varicose vein and then went around the world calling his accomplishments a WR at only 5'9 and 186 LBS body weight when he did it..I was like not only did I beat his so called unofficial WR by over 20 LBS heavier body weight and still 6'0 tall and under due to the math of him only being 5'10... So 2 inches by 7 LBS correlation goes to 14 LBS heavier added to the 186... so yeah 200... But I did 550 for 1 that day at the gym later on.....

So beat him by 50 LBS in deadlifts as well. But yeah that's just due to being heavier...........Bottomline not even fucking Las Vegas steroid users can compete with me in this shit.. I'm just too good at what I do... I could even do a steroid correlation on this and say if I did steroids my entire life then the 4:14 potential turns into a fucking 3:56 FULL fucking mile at 6'0 tall and 206 LBS...

You're just all literally clueless as to what you're even dealing with here.. it's really fun to watch the gullibleness.. The naiveness at play within the mind to think that any of you can compete with me in anything on this fucking planet... HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHere's his Insta....
