Bill Belichick vs Nick Saban, better head coach?

I know one is in college and the other is in the pros but if all else was equal with the teams, who'd you take as the better coach in that match up?

Both overrated and just benefit from the GOAT(Bill) or constant top recruits(Saban)

Saban can win with any QB, Belichick has been doodoo without Brady.

Seems pretty obvious to me.
All it takes is Mookie Betts, Steph Curry, and Joe Burrow all sitting in the same car in order for one drunk driver to make the world a significantly better place.

There's literally zero debate here for anyone with more than 10 IQ.

Saban can literally recruit his players from anywhere. The NFL has a salary cap.

Dumb question is dumb.

Bill is by far the better coach because he's the GOAT NFL head coach. Saban didn't last, what, 2 years?

Bill in college would destroy Saban. Can you imagine all the HS kids that would kill for the chance to play for him over Saban?

Saban has recruiters to do that job for him. Saban's biggest contribution to recruiting is just his name.

NFL is harder to coach than college because the talent is much more equal

nick saban's success in college revolves around his school being able to recruit the top class.. don't give me that BS that he is out there recruiting with his physical body, cause thats not true.

if nick saban wants the honor of one of the best coaches he would need to succeed in the NFL.. but all we got was him quitting on miami to go back to college.

belicheat's defensive mind is crazy good.. his offense was carried by brady, but year in and year out the defense is top notch in planning and taking away weapons.

Belichek took a rookie QB who was coached by Saban and he became a really good NFL QB in under a year. Threw almost 4000 yards and had 22TD/13INT with a rating ahead of Josh Allen. And that was with a dog crap O Line and receivers.

Belichick is a retarded GM whose success is owed largely to Brady covering up his poor roster building for all these years, but he's definitely the GOAT football coach - dominating at the highest level > *

This is a god-awful take. Belichick's entire coaching philosophy is about flexibility and exploiting the other team's weaknesses. He has legendary gameplans in the biggest moments like his HOF gameplan against the Bills, stopping the GSOT (bullzeye), and dominating the 2019 Rams. Belichick is probably the best X's and O's coach in NFL history.

One wins at the highest level in a salary capped league.

The other tried the NFL and failed miserably and had to go back to college to get all the best recruits to win.

Lmfao sure

That success has nothing to do with the Pats' defenses basically shutting people out time and time again. Or typically having the best starting field position. Or tons of YAC. It's always 100% Brady with you nuthuggers, which is laughably wrong and stupid.

Brady was the main reason for Bill's success. Saban hasn't had that.

Bill gets my vote. 20 years of consistent success in the NFL with salary caps, constant roster turnovers and playing against top tier talent year round.

Saban has the benefit of getting the top recruits in the country (granted, due to his accomplishments with the program), and in college the talent gap between teams is drastic compared to the NFL.

Both are incredible coaches, but Bill wins due to accomplishing what he has in a professional league where only the best players get to play.

This isn't even a contest.

Saban was a failure in the NFL.
Belichick has won 6 SB and been to 9. He also has 2 rings with the Giants. (doesn't know x's and o's), negged.

Everyone hits and misses on the draft. You want to talk about his free agent hits? JC Jackson? Malcolm Butler? He drafted Edelman who was a QB and turned him into a receiver.

Morons.

Based on DSRS, the Patriots had a below-average defense ONE TIME under Belichick and it was -.01 (0 is average).

IMO the only way to settle this is for Belichick to make the jump and prove he can win in the college game. Otherwise it's 7X NCAA champion vs. 6X NFL champion which might as well be equal, also over the same period of time both head coaching successes started in the early 2000s. Saban's NFL stint was a failure but Bill doesn't have an NCAA stint for comparison.
There's no question that Bill would have an insane amount of success in college, and to compare you absolutely do not need to have Bill go down to college. Saban tried his hand in the NFL and completely embarrassed himself, my dude. The NFL is where the best coaches go.

7 NCAA wins doesn't compare to 6 (HC) SB wins. Bill actually has 8 SB wins as a coach. Not even close. The talent differences in NCAA are HUGE. Saban has the benefit of having the very best HS players flocking to Bama while other programs don't. That's obviously because everyone knows that you win when you go there, which is a testament to his success, but that's not a benefit that Bill has.

Saban tried to replicate his success in the ultimate football league and failed. Bill has had sustained success. That's all that really needs to be said.

Be careful with this. The hypocrites will call you a "hater" and a "coper" for pointing out simple facts about ateamsport. It really is amazing that people can't admit how good of a defense they've had time and time again. It's all because of the QB that they've won.

02 SB: NE holds STL to 17 points when they scored 31 ppg.
15 SB: NE defense literally saves the game.
19 SB: NE holds LAR to33points when they scored 27 ppg.
20 SB: TB holds KC to 9 points when they scored 29.6 ppg.

It'sallBrady, though.

The only time Lunatic's rants aren't laughable is when he's backing up another poster 'A exact words.

Total side character/NPC.

Remember Lunatic when you were supposed to get banned because Mayfield didn't make the pro bowl?

Yet another ridiculous take, even though you never honored your bet Cletus.

I think one thing to keep in mind is that while the Patriots did lose Superbowls under Bill, they were never blown out or knocked out in championships. All the teams that the Patriots played, they played until the very end and it took a ton of effort to beat them. However, Saban got dismantled by Clemson.

Belichick is the best at the NFL level. Whereas Saban is the best at the collegiate level.

Saban tried the NFL and didn't do great. And not sure if Belichick would do well at the college level.

This a joke? Saban couldn't handle the NFL HC job when you have to deal with the salary cap and don't just get to recruit talent based on your pedigree and how many guys you can send to the NFL.

Belichick would absolutely dominate at the college level if he wanted to.
