2023 Official XFL Thread

What are the teams for the 2023 XFL season, and who are the head coaches?

There will be eight teams, split into two divisions:

XFL North

D.C. Defenders (Reggie Barlow)

Seattle Sea Dragons (Jim Haslett)

St. Louis Battlehawks (Anthony Becht)

Vegas Vipers (Rod Woodson)

XFL South

Arlington Renegades (Bob Stoops)

Houston Roughnecks (Wade Phillips)

Orlando Guardians (Terrell Buckley)

San Antonio Brahmas (Hines Ward)



What are the games for the 2023 XFL kickoff week?

Saturday, February 18

Vegas Vipers at the Arlington Renegades: 3 p.m. ET on ABC

Orlando Guardians at Houston Roughnecks: 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN, FX and ESPN Deportes

Sunday, February 19

St. Louis Battlehawks at San Antonio Brahmas: 3 p.m. ET on ABC

Seattle Sea Dragons at D.C. Defenders: 8:00 p.m. ET on ESPN and ESPN Deportes

That Renegade defense is a takeaway machine. The game is much slower compared to the NFL.

1st games of the season for XFL and USFL are always rough. They will all hit their stride soon. Remember, this league does not have a preseason like the NFL.

the two rules NFL needs to adopt is bring back kickoffs so they land in bounds again and have the players not run til the ball is caught like the XFL

and the 4th and 15 instead of an onside kick is pretty cool especially for impossible comeback moments

This. I like the extra points thing after the TD. But can't stand the commentary sucking up to the NFL. Makes it unwatchable. Schedule is all over the place as well. I hope it sticks around but the commentary is making it look like a farm league for the NFL when it should have it's own identity.
