Any lifelong bachelors here happy with their choice?

The misc and so much content out there says that all men need a wife or a stable LTR to be happy but even as I approach my 30s, I feel like I am happy being single. I prefer the solitude and if get a date every couples weeks or so, that is a fun time for me. It's like I feel that deep down inside, I don't actually want commitment or an LTR but society and all of the content out there is pushing it on me saying "no no no no, you need this bro".

There used to be movements to say that men can be happy being lifelong bachelors as long as they have their finances and career together but those seem to have gone down. Now it's like even the pro-male movements are saying "eewww how can you be a bachelor after 30 that's gross bro, grow up".

WTF.

Clown world dating I guess.

I got married at 28 (2017) and divorced at 30 (2019)

Best decision of my life. Have had two girlfriends since but had to dump them. Single life is the absolute greatest bro. Especially if you got money and resources

There's certainly nothing wrong with being a bachelor if you're happy with it. Just keep an open mind and if you meet someone who you feel so natural and comfortable with that you want to be married to her, then go for it. Otherwise, just enjoy bachelorhood. My wife was the first person I ever met who I instantly thought this is a person I want to spend the rest of my life with, and we've been together 26 years and married 23. The only advice I give people is don't get married/LTR if you don't have that feeling. Forcing a marriage or settling is probably the number one reason marriages fail. If there is any question at all about whether you should get married to a particular person or not, the answer is already no.

I agree this is great advice. Those I know who had hesitation are now divorced.

Don’t buy into the powder-puff idea that if you don’t find your mythological soulmate ONE by the time you’re 30 and ASAP you’ll tempt fate and risk a life of quiet desperation. This contrivance only serves the interests of women who’s imperative it is to enjoy their party years in their 20′s with as many Alphas as they can attract and have a stable Nice Guy who’s petrified he’ll live a life of loneliness and desperation waiting for them at 28-30 to marry and ensure their long term security.

No reason to settle down quick, but i think being single DEEP into life is kinda sad. When you start to lose your looks/youth, and you don't have those occasionally weekly dates as a crutch getting you through, life becomes more depressing. I know a guy in his late 50's who is a confirmed bachelor and you can tell the dude is weird af...not to mention your growth as a person ends in your 30's. There is something about becoming a husband/dad that makes a man continue to grow and strive. Just my 2 cents. Do what makes you happy my man

I feel the same way but whenever you say you’re content people wanna put words into your mouth and tell you that you feel the need to get married or have kids it’s quite annoying. There comes a point where you just are at peace with being on your own and that’s a liberating feeling
No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.

I had a close friend back in the 80’s who couldn’t stand being alone . He’s been divorced once ,and hopefully things work out for him with his new sloot .

In my case I’m extremely happy being single , and actually get depressed when I was in a relationship, as it always felt similar to buyers remorse .
I’m not really into keeping a sloot entertained every single day anyways , and enjoy my hobbies .
Sure having a sloot is nice on occasion, especially after 10pm , but I just find the cons outweigh the pros .
Obviously others don’t have such a chit attitude regarding sloots , and find a lot of benefits in a relationship, and I say good on them

Yea I just get annoyed when people judge dudes who just happen to be perpetually single. Like we don't always bust peoples balls about their marriage and relationships so why do they feel the need to push their opinions onto us.

This is about as solid advice that I've seen.

I'm sure it rings home to many of us who have stayed in relationships way past their expiration dates that we knew were no good long term for us.

I knew from the beginning of dating my ex that I worked with and connected with and liked as a person for damn near a year at work that I just didn't ultimately feel it with her. She never made me laugh at all, she just didn't have an interesting personality where I could consistently talk with her, we were on pretty opposite ends politically where every once in a while I couldn't say what I really thought otherwise the relationship would just end right there, but at the same time we had a natural vibe, almost the same damn personality and energy (honestly I've never felt that level of holy chit this girl is me with anybody before her) and I held on to the whole idea of we have the same interests and she's very feminine and pleasant to be around, we have fun together, have great sex, etc etc. I always found myself just wanting to hang out with her abour 3-4x a week vs actually live with her or face the idea of being married to her 7 days a week. That didn't work at all for her.

Somehow this dragged out to 3 years with each other of either being friends first, dating, breaking up, and dating again. As a result she hates my fkn guts and is about to be 35 in 6 months and still isn't married. I don't want her back ever again after all that she did to me, but she's a prime example of somebody I should have let go from the first 4 months in as my gut wasn't lying to me. As for me, I haven't dated anybody since her and I really don't even care. I'm in great shape, look 10 years younger than my age according to most people, and just having fun. I'm good at flirting around with women I meet at mid-day bars on Fridays when I'm working and stuff. I've had plenty bat their eyes and talk for an hour or 2 but none really strike my interest beyond me just being a guy cool working at a restaurant on his Friday. If somebody cool and hot and fun with the same energy and interests who's in to me comes along anytime soon and I find myself drawn to them well then I'll be ready to go. If they don't then I really don't care. I've got other things that I find happiness in.

I think people really know it pretty soon when they feel like they've met the one. People delude themself deep into relationships trying to believe that somebody is the one when they know that they're not.

I've been single practically my entire life, and while I enjoy it, stress free, saved up a lot of money, can dictate my own life - it's weird seeing a generation promote being single. We are biologically build to group and find other people to connect with. Build to procreate too.

I don't mind being single, but I'm also cool with finding a solid girl. Marriage, no though.

Some girls are just too much work if getting into relationships

You have to wine and dine them, make sure to throw special events on numerous certain dates, think of and do romantic gestures, show them attention all the time, etc.

I know there are guys who enjoy doing this stuff but I'm just too lazy and dngaf enough especially when getting laid took so little effort for so long for me

I'm curious what could have been with some women I knew in high school. But I was so immature back then it is probably for the best I did not marry. Maturing on my own probably better than fighting with and maybe hurting someone who remembers my past.

Now I would not want to date most women out there. Their damage is obvious when they get so upset over political issues.

I can be in the mood to wine and dine one day, and not even in the mood for sex the next. I'm pretty sure the later would make them drop me. Better to relax at home and not have to entertain anyone.

All men? Everyones different. Some people are happier with wife/stable LTR. Some are happier single. Forget what society or what randoms on Misc say; do what makes you happy.

Also, it's okay to change your mind. A bachelor can always decide to be in a relationship down the road if they want to. So there's no rush.

I'm 31 and have had one girl that I could seriously see myself being with for a lifetime. Never been married, no kids. I could honestly go either way. If I were to settle down with somebody it would have to be exactly what I want and nothing less because the alternative in doing my own thing is just fine as well.

I preferred to just fap and get it over with.

I don't see myself staying single forever - things get lonely. The single life robs your mother and father of their desire to see you paired off, robs them of grandchildren, and robs them of life experiences that they've been looking forward to since you were born. Not only that but it will become humiliating when you see younger family members getting married and you're still single.

For me, I'm starting to come to the realization that it's less about me, and more about my immediate family. Getting married and having kids is a sacrifice any normal man should be making in the interest of the bigger picture.

Guess I can say all that, since I'll be settling down with someone of my own ethnicity (indian) and the divorce rate for us is something like 3%. Given the kinds of women in clown world these days it wouldn't bother me finding someone overseas as long as she's attractive and submissive. There's more to relationships than sex and looks IMO, it's about compromise and I feel the american mindset is more individualistic hence the difficulty in settling down.

When you stay single long enough, atleast for me I started to get into the mindset that I'm the only person that will truly be there for me (besides parents), and that anyone that I settle down with is just along for the ride. Unfortunate, but that's how things evolved. It makes it easier to find someone when that concept is internalized. There's not someone out there for everyone, there's PLENTY out there for everyone, it's just a matter of willingness to compromise. The whole soulmate concept is BS imo.
