Who's right? Argument with girlfriend
So my girlfriend was driving a new road she never drove before (which I have driven many times), and she got a speeding ticket.
She then proceeds to say 'You could've warned me there were speed checks there'.
I get mad because she's trying the shift the blame to me, while she's the one behind the wheel. Her counter-argument is 'I'm not trying to blame you, I'm only saying it because the incident scared me'.
She won't admit she's saying it because she wants to blame me. That's the thing that pisses me off here. She thinks she's in her full right to say that.
Who's right and who's wrong here?

its her fault, she is responsible for her actions. you could have warned her, but at the end of the day she shouldn't be speeding

lol @ people having a major argument over something as dumb as this. simply tell her to drive more carefully next time, and move on with your day.

How often are there checks there? Either way, it’s not like you’re supposed to warn her every time she’s in an area where there might be a sped trap.
It’s also somewhat of a red flag that she is blaming you for her own screwups. That’s a habit to watch out for in anyone, but especially the person you’re in a serious relationship with.

Did you know there was a speed check?
Did you know how fast she was going?
You couldn’t have just said you didn’t know?

I'm going to just say your girlfriend is in the right because she tried to backpedal and you didn't let her. She clearly didn't mean the blame even though in that moment she may have blamed you, but that moment quickly went away and your continued anger means that you are immature, have trouble moving on, have trust issues, cannot make compromises, shouldn't be in a relationship with a woman, or all of the above. What she did there: pretend-blaming etc, is an EXTREMELY common thing that women do. Maybe you should reconsider being in a relationship with a woman if you cannot even handle something as simple as that. Seriously, breaking up and finding a new girl is not going to solve this problem, the new girl will do the same thing. They pretty much all do. It's not you, it's them, but if you can't get over it, then it's you. It was almost a subtle sh*x test that you failed, she wanted to see if you'd be there for her, have her back, willing to sacrifice for her (as in take the blame). Now she knows she can't trust you; she will deem you unreliable. If more of these happen, she will distance herself from you and start riding Tyrone's cawk in secret.
So objectively looking at it, who's in the right? You are. However, as this is a common behavior and you're unable to deal with it, even trying to be in a relationship with a woman, well, you've already lost by willfully putting yourself in a situation you can't handle. So practically speaking, you are not in the right. Although she's objectively in the wrong, playful-blaming is such a SMALL thing with no consequences that at some point, a grown man would be able to look past it. And now look at the consequences: she's distraught about the speeding ticket, she feels like a victim, you didn't allow her any relief from her pretend blaming and possibly revealed yourself to her as an unreliable bf. Being unable to manage a bad situation, you've only contributed to making it worse. Practically again, it would be more productive to just let her get away with it so she can do w/e she has to do to fix her speeding ticket effectively, peacefully, and as emotionally-positive as possible, and you'd also suffer less headaches in the future because she may use this event against you as of now, she has to go through the annoying and dreadful process of going to court and paying a couple hundred while having an unsupportive bf. She will be bitter af while going through this in the coming couple months.

Well it is your fault. Why the hell is she driving while you are on the car? Women rely on men for us to take the lead and take them to the destination safe and stress-free. She blamed you, not because you didn’t warn her, but because she has no business being behind the well when you the supposed man was right there. She just doesn’t know it, at least not subconsciously.
"The flowers bloom, then wither... The stars shine and one day become extinct. This earth, the sun, the galaxies and even the big universe, someday will be destroyed. Compared with that, the human life is only a blink, just a little time. In that short time - people are born, laugh, cry, fight, are injured, feel joy, sadness, hate someone, love someone. All in just a moment. And then, are embraced by the eternal sleep called death."

You're wrong for not moving on after she told you she's not blaming you. As long as she said that I don't know what the issue is.

this is 2022 - its about time women actually stopped having their cake and eating it too. Honestly? I wouldn't really care if she was some village girl from Asia and didn't have a license to drive, or really anything at all - and she just cooked, fukked OP and did houseworkBUTthat's 99.9% not what's actually happening, is it.
she has a driving license, she lives in a 1st world country, and she is hating on OP for not telling her there were speed cameras on the road which SHE WAS DRIVING ON.
How do we know OP even KNOWS there are speed cameras there? She was assuming he knew. Maybe they were newly installed? Mobile?
This p*sses me off so much because 2 of my Ex gF's (especially the most recent) would do sh*t like this, manipulate situations to make it seem like you are at fault and they are innocent.

Whole issue: sloot feels OP is wrong, hence the whole argument
if she wasn't blaming him, this would have never come up.

Were you in the car with her or was she alone? If you were in the car you could have given her a heads up. I always do if I'm a passenger with someone who's not from this area and we're in an area that there are always cops about. If not in the car with her, then it's totally on her. How were you to even know she'd be on that road? Unless she specifically asked "hey, anything I should be aware of on "this" road?" Which it seems she didn't. So you're in the right and she's in the wrong.

Neither of you are "right" in this scenario.
She is wrong for deflecting blame, the blame just happened to be sent at you, but that is an EXTREMELY common trait amongst women and people in general. No one likes to accept full responsibility when they were caught doing something they shouldnt have done.
You are also in the wrong for being an equally dramatic teenage girl by basically digging your feet in (which draws a line in the sand for her to equally defend) on something so pedantic and trivial. Be an example of being the bigger / better / mature person by not even entertaining stupid chit like this, and move TF on.

And I agree that this would have all been avoided had you been driving.

She sounds like a typical girl, you sound like a dense bro
I "blame" my gf all the time for stuff, it's never serious but I just like to tease her about things like that. She'll do the same to me. Neither of us get in arguments about it, except when she's on her period and more emotional than usual, after which I defuse the argument simply by saying I'm joking/not serious.

The only person responsible for her driving is her. If she can't figure out where speed traps are likely to be, then she shouldn't drive significantly over the speed limit, or she should get WAZE.

How is anyone wrong? Just say I’ve never seen them there before. In a joking way say I’ll pay your ticket for some head. She will probably comply.

But if you care about her and you know god damn well there are speed traps you could have warned her.
It's not entirely fair but it's true even if you don't like it.
