Ex told me about her bf

Fml

So ex and I had a bad breakup
Have a small circle of friends and professional circle
Didn’t speak to me for over a year
Started being friendly after a year at Events
Unblocked me on social media and requested me
Didn’t answer me when I messaged her or invited her to my party
She’s had a bf for almost a year
Anyway started chatting and was talking about work and life. She started telling me something about her new bf. She said the words “my bf” and my heart broke on the inside
Played it cool and ignored that comment
Later she started talking to me and I told her that I never know if I should say hi or not
She says oh no we’re past all that
She left pretty soon after that
Feels weird man

It’s been over a year at least

What’s going on? Why you snarled up by someone from the past?

That moment when you hear those words "my BF" and you suddenly realise, that despite all the times you convinced yourself that you were over her.....you're not.
There is but one path....we kill them all.

Bro, take this lesson from someone who has been jerked around a lot.

Once the girl thinks of breaking up with u or broke up, she is gone man and if she comes back, it's bc she isn't interested usually but just wanna feed up her ego.

You listen to this dude you NC her in your mind ok and you should believe in yourself that if she comes back you don't take her even for hook ups.

Never reply to her at all.

Why the fuk are you chatting with ex gf’s from a year ago?

You should have forgotten her by know.

She moved on, contacted you to see how you were doing, you fell for the trap, and now she leaves ecstatic knowing that she is in a much better place than you.

Why the fuk do you care what she is up to or who she is dating? If it’s not you, it doesn’t matter.

Stop giving her attention. It’s been over for a year.

Damn it, I hate the ex gf stalking.

You know what my exes are doing? Have no fn idea because I don’t stalk them on social media, I deleted their numbers minutes after the break up, and am looking forward, not backward. Don’t give a chit who they are seeing.

Man up and don't make the mistakes I did. Leave all of her crap and be as mean as possible when she contacts u if u had to.

Girls have no mercy to u when they lose feelings so should u do the same

Yeah guess I’m not over it
We run into each other a bit because we have mutual friends and professional network
I’ll probably send her a message today like “nice seeing you hope we can talk soon”
I was prepared to not talk to her at all and she sat near me and we started chatting
We broke up like two years ago and she’s been with this dude for about a year

And then what? You guys talk about how cute her current bf is? Don't even try to convince yourself that you're capable of doing that.

Well when we broke up there was some issues regarding her or someone else doing something that causes to lose friends and I’m curious if she was behind it

Basically I want to say that i don’t like how she treated me and that it’s weird to think that ghosting then acting like nothing hallenedwill lead to us talking and ignoring what happened

Also, I want to smash

It shouldnt bother you Op and you should look for other prospects.

As for wanting to smash. I would recommend you not be that guy that still chases his ex in order to sleep with her. Its not healthy for your mind.

You are probably right
It’s just hard because we keep running into her and I feel like it would be a waste not to
I don’t want to be an old man dying and regret not taking a shot

If you want to be around her, then be around for her and not "the two of you." If all you were supposed to be doing was talking and that line felt intrusive, then it's more like you're being there for what's between you two and not just her.

What do you mean be there for her? She was at my good friends event and I was surprised that she attended
Didn’t say hello to her lol, then she sat directly in front of me and conversation naturally happened

If you mean be there for her as a friend then I still need to call her out on what happened between us before being able to host he friends. I hate having it hanging between us especially because she keeps referring to events around what happened like she is baiting the conversation

I feel like if I can explain how she hurt me and my reputation and we both acknowledge our wrongs we can move on and maybe just be friends instead of exes with drama

You keep things on a hello basis and if you must let her come to you if she wants some. She could just be acting normal because she also knows you will keep running into each other. It’s a tough sitch when you keep seeing her no doubt.

Wait, you did give it a shot. And it failed. That’s why she is an ex.

I think you meant give it a shot until you get back together. AKA oneitis.

I mean even if it’s just getting closure on what happened I’d rather try and say something than die with regret
Especially because we see each other a few times a year
What kind of man would I be if I kept my feelings to myself when she’s baiting the conversation?

I don’t believe in closure. What the fuk does that even mean?

You want her to sleep with you, not “closure” bullchit. You just want to keep seeing her, and talking to her in the hopes that she takes you back. That’s the real reason, jut admit it and stop pretending otherwise.

You got closure when the relationship ended.

I'm not talking about doing anything supportive for her, I'm talking about just you being around her for any reason whatsoever. You should be able to talk to her as if she's someone at work or something that you're detached from. That involves viewing them as a person on their own and not some part of a cohabitation with a relationship history, whether you recognize that you broke up or not.

Now with what you're saying here, you have a need to call her out, that she needs to realize what she did, and at 'your' good friend's event or something (from what you're saying, we don't even know if she's even receptive to that or not). That wasn't really the context of your story, you just said that you had a bad breakup and that you invited her to a party. And whether you are or were in the right or not, it's an expectation on your end. So whether it's a case of a platonic relationship or even one w/ closure because of something hanging 'between you' or something, her mentioning her bf shouldn't be a problem unless you're seeing her based on feelings or whatever.

Well thanks for the judgement
I’ve dated other women since but the combination of running into each other often, how it ended, and what happened between us makes it weird.

I recently told my friend that I still have feelings for the ex
Friend was there last night and ran over to ask me what we spoke about after the ex left lol
I’m too old for this drama
Maybe I’m making a mistake

I’m sure it’s “just to smash” lol

I’d respect these people a lot more if they just came out and said “I’m a chump that hasn’t been able to get anothet girl since that time and I want her back” rather than bullchiting with the “I accidentally went to the same party as she did” or “I need to talk to get to get closure” or “I just want to be a friend to her” or “Well, I have to talk to her since she is talking to me” or whatever other complete bull crap I read here.

I KNEW you had feelings for her way before you admitted it.

I’m just calling out the bull excuses you are making, making it seem like these interactions are “accidental” or “unplanned.”

There is no reason to be messaging her for “professional” reasons on a Saturday, is there?

So there’s no way of knowing what professional events she will be at. We were at one together yesterday and I didn’t say hello at all even though we saw each other. What I didn’t plan on was her being at my friends party. And that friend is someone I’m really close with and she never was close so I didn’t go to the party to see my ex lol. And when she walked in I again didn’t say hello until she sat right in front of me like an hour into the party

So no I’m not going out of my way to look for her
And I’m not messaging her today for professional reasons

I wrote hey nice seeing you would like to talk more
She wrote back immediately
Sure she knows I’m not trying to network with her professionally
