Why it's to believe that the second coming of Christ is (still) happening

Based on this, Either it already happened or it is not going to happen.

Look up "Preterism". 99% of Christians believe the Second Coming is a future event but it happened in 70AD with the Fall of Jerusalem (Which Jesus SAID would be the Sign of His Coming).

He's the Holy Spirit.

Will look into it. I find it extremely hard to argue with the simple passage I highlighted. Or is he referring to any one generation that will go through that period...

Grammar and other scriptures affirm He meant His Coming would be in their days.

Matthew 10:23
When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. Truly I tell you, you will not finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

This verse is referring to events which happened 2000 years ago.

It all makes sense now that seems very likely. But what are the implications?

Did he deliver or Fall short of his big shiny promises? Was he finally just a man with a messiah complex?

Was he legit?

Is God even real?

All these questions are driving me absolutely mad and I the only thing.more maddening are the Christians who are acting hard and proud when asking them such questions. Fronting and posturing. But on the inside they are a house of cards

That pastor talk show guy Jesse lee peters. It seems to me that he is in this camp of people who believe something.like what you are saying. But he also does not believe in the trinity and makes very strong common sense points about it

Didn't even look it up yet and already 99% convinced its correct

It begs the question what are these 99% of Christians smoking and how do they mentally cope with the quote in the OP highlighted in green?

https://www.gotquestions.org/this-generation-not-pass.html

The key to understanding what Jesus meant by “this generation will not pass away until all these things take place” is the context; that is, we must understand the verses that are surrounding Matthew 24:34, especially the verses prior to it. In Matthew 24:4–31, Jesus is clearly giving a prophecy; He is speaking of future events.

Luke 16:8
And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

I was watching that Jesus TV series the chosen (in German so it sounds more violent) and the part where Jesus was tearing the Pharisees a new asshole was entertaining.

Then I listened to the real thing and it was even so much greater than the TV show. (Surprising, with many parts it's not like that, but in Mathew 23 he really unloads a big rant)

Listen to the audio it is quite satisfying in german. Probably sounds also funny in ✡️ will see if I can find it

This is how normies think: regurgitating spoonfed majority view = WISDOM

Using your brain to critically assess the evidence = IGNORANCE

John 21:20-23
20Peter turned and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them. He was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper to ask, “Lord, who is going to betray You?” 21When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?”

22Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain until I return, what is that to you? You follow Me!” 23Because of this, the rumor spread among the brothers that this disciple would not die. However, Jesus did not say that he would not die, but only, “If I want him to remain until I return, what is that to you?”

This is more Scripture that proves Jesus returned 2000 years ago (verse 22). John died 2000 years ago. Jesus said He would return in his lifetime.

Thanks brosef, will look into this tomorrow. Tired as fuck now.

Do you think I can still have eternal life or was it all allegorical or a ruse?

Do you think this misc post is accurate?

"the most important part is repenting of your sins, submitting fully to the will of the almighty, confessing your sins fully to him, so that you may be granted salvation if and only by going through the son as there is no way but that one to the father and then after death there is the judgement and you may escape gehenna and eternal damnation IF and only when and BUT you are truly walking a pious march"

The most important thing is believing that Jesus is the Messiah and the Lord.

Then pray "I believe that Jesus is the Lord and receive Him into my heart". Perhaps God will answer your prayers and open your eyes and change your heart.
