Great for fixing lower back pain or just a weak lower back in general. Do them with a 45 lbs plate srs

My favorite exercise, srs. Mind you need to sit down for a couple of mins after a hard session because everything you're working is what your body also uses to keep you upright when standing/walking. So if you toast it all with a few heavy sets then decide to walk around for a while you're going to be fucking miserable.
Back when I lifted regularly I did my lower back so started doing these to rehab it. Kept them up and my deadlifts fucking exploded because of it (you can hit these a few times a week instead of like one set of DLs).

I wouldn't advise starting with a 45lb plate though. It's easy to fuck your back up. Start with nothing then go up 5lbs at a time until you find your 8-12 rep weight. Also there's a huge difference between hugging the weight to your chest and holding it out with your arms extended. You can only do the former with multiple heavy plates though. Unless you're some kind of freak of nature grip wise.
