Would it be weird to Facebook Message a former MLB player asking to meet up and get a photo with him?

I would just explain that I'm a huge fan and it would be a dream of mine to get a photo.

I was never the type of guy to ask for a photo or an autograph. Last time I did it I was probably 12 years old. It happened because we were on the same plane. I met “Jenny Rivera” btw a Spanish singer who has passed away.

Probably just ignore you or leave you on read at best. It'll either happen a lot and be annoying AF, or he'll genuinely worry about you being some kind of fucking weirdo and want to avoid you.

Think about it logically too, even shit MLB players probably end their career with a few million in the bank. Would you go meet up with some random bozo knowing you could get kidnapped and ransomed.

You're better off upping your stalking game while using Facebook as a tool and "bumping into him" "randomly" before asking for a photo in person.

It happens sometimes, but you need to buy one of his rare cards and then ask him if he would like to have it. This will build a rapport and the player usually will offer something like merch or an autogroah etc in return. You can then ask for the meetup photo.
