You gonna celebrate by eating a whole pizza?
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

it helps me to have a hard stop date. for example, i decided to have my last drink on December 31.

i've successfully done Dry January for the past 4 years, but i always went back to drinking once the month ended. this time i decided to keep going because the drinking was preventing me from losing weight. i plan on going the entire year without drinking srs.

i think you should never drink again. some people just can't drink without it triggering addiction - and wanting to drink every day - slippery slope. some people just shouldn't drink. maybe that's you. and that's ok. if you drink again it could trigger the slippery slope downward spiral.

i could never be an alcoholic because if i drink i wake up and don't want to drink for another 2+ weeks. granted when i go out i go OUT - 12+ beers - but i can then go several weeks. i'm a social drinker - if it wasn't for the social aspect i would never drink. i never drink at home and/or alone. always and only socially. it's a necessary evil for social outings.

Mirin

It's always good to have drinking as one of your future goals in life.

My goal for 2027 is to smoke cigarettes.

Proud of you bro. I never knew how much my life involved alcohol until I started dating a woman who was sober. I know it's not easy. Well done!
Have fun and be yourself :-)

Addiction knows no moderation. You're on a slippery slope. Best to just avoid it all together. It's going to get you slowly then suddenly.
