Meta updates smart glasses to curb covert filming of Creepshots

Meta has quietly acknowledged the privacy concerns regarding its smart glasses by issuing an update that disables the camera when the privacy LED has been tampered with or destroyed.

This change follows reports about modders drilling out the light on their own glasses or others’ for a fee.

Unfortunately it’s only for Chad . In the not too far distant future anyone under 6’3 will probably be imprisoned for taking unauthorized pics

Instead of doing something as invasive as drilling out the lense, couldn’t you just put a small dab of paint over it ?

I don’t have the glasses but i asked the same thing. I guess the LED is kind of built into the camera lens or very closely surrounding the lens. So there’s no real way up covering the light without obstructing the camera too.

There is zero expectation of privacy in public.

Anyone can record anything they see in public.

You do not need anyone’s permission to do this. You do not have to inform anyone you are doing it.

I’m pretty sure it’s legal to record people in public as you have no expectation of privacy.

While true, it's fukn weird knowing that brown people (mostly) are using these to film women and children that they try to pick up, and save the footage for a rainy day.

What does this actually mean? With normal functioning META glasses, you can easily tell when someone takes a picture? (Super Ded fkn Srs)

You can tell if someone is recording because of a small light.

People have been using small drills to basically drill out the light so when recording the light doesn't turn on and people won't know

I sometimes watch a tech repair guy on YouTube and he frequently performs this service for like 50 bucks and takes him 2 seconds to do.

I wanted to get a pair for the beach but I figured something like this would come along. Pretty soon they will wipe or heavily police any footage of women in public even though they dress like prostitutes. Part of why women dress like such sloots is cause there are no repercussions anymore...you can't cat call them, you can't approach them, and now we can't even take pics of hot girls who are half naked in public.

Do not think that what is hard for you to master is humanly impossible; and if it is humanly possible, consider it to be within your reach.

No it already checks for that. That’s why people drilled it out - you could still record that way.

Yeap. OP is certainly brown. Mostly.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

I have a set of meta glasses I got to prevent/catch my ex-wife having melt downs over our child. I've only used the recording feature a handful of times, but the being able to listen to music from them or ask AI questions is nice.

or they'll shut down dudes who post pics of women online
so like every time you upload a vid on YouTube, IG, or Tiktok... you have to make sure all the sloots are blurred or your channel will get tagged and suspended

but sloots doing bikini try on hauls can still upload what they want
