A Canadian woman was arrested for allegedly slapping a teen girl wearing Trump clothing at the Jersey Shore, police said, and is currently in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to her husband.

Kaitlyn E. Tracey, 33, approached the teen and three friends on the boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach on July 3 as she recorded them with her phone, according to court documents, NJ.com reported. The teen was wearing sweatpants with the words “Trump” and “ICE.”


Tracey, of Asbury Park, yelled at the two people in the group wearing “patriotic colored” sweatpants before she slapped the teen across her face and body, per an affidavit of probable cause. The teen was not injured.

Tracey is a Canadian citizen who entered the U.S. with a passport in 2024, according to court papers.

Matthew Geroni, an American citizen who identified himself as her husband, said Tracey is being turned over to ICE. She was not listed in jail records as an inmate as of Tuesday morning, but according to court records, she is scheduled for an Aug. 4 court appearance.

“I need help,” Geroni said in a video posted on TikTok. “I need my wife. I don’t want to see her get hurt.”
