Define decent.

Go to a 3 star all inclusive in Cuba and get shit food but lots of sun and booze for $1500.

Go to Colombia and stay in a cheap hotel and buy hookers every day for $2000.

Go to somewhere like Rome and pay $400 a night for a hotel and tons for food for $5000.

Depends on what you do for vacation. Cruises don't have solo rates. Resorts are a set price so you pay the same whether you're solo or have 2 people in a room. Solo doesn't really seem worth it for that type of vacation.

Celebrity cruise I think the least we've paid was around $3500 for a 7 night for the 2 of us and included the premium drink package for both. All food except the specialty dining rooms are included. Tons of entertainment and activities. Shows/music every night.

We've got 2 all inclusives booked for the coming year and the less expensive one is I think around $4800. for 6 nights.

We use credit card points for all of the flights. When we go somewhere where we stay in a hotel we use credit card points for that usually. When we go to Banff this year we are getting the 5 hotel nights free basically. So basically only paying for a rental car and food.

Travel with the gf now, but if I went anywhere solo, I'd either stay in a great hotel in the middle of a city or a resort a few km away

Food and drink now is more but solo, your numbers are about right - biggest variation is the food and drink; solo I could maybe limit it around $1k but not a chance in hell now lmao

I got back from France/ Monaco a month ago. We spent 11 days there at a cost of about $25k but there were four of us. This was higher than average but it was my 15yr anniversary and my wife's 50th birthday. This does not include a few items like suovenirs, beach rentals like cabanas and jet skis, and gifts - so add another $3k.

I don't think you are getting a good airfare ticket for $500 and you certainly are not getting a good hotel room for $400 per night unless you are off season.

Also, not sure where you are going to spend 6 days roaming around with a $100 Uber budget.

You only live once and travel is the only expense that makes you richer.

I drive most places that aren't out of the country because it's way cheaper and I can do other things along the way. I had to fly to El Salvador in January obviously but hate having to pay $500 to fly somewhere that takes eight hours when I can drive there in 20 hours for $200.

But yeah, I spend around 5k for a nice family vacation for a week. When it's just my son and I going, we spend about $1500.

Lol, you are paying ultra-retail pricing here. You could have done a similar trip for significantly less than this with little dropoff in quality.

airbnb : knew a girl living there, she found me a decent 1 room, 10 days for 700eur
groceries : around 90eur/week excluding booze
going out/restaurants/bars/parties : xxx (i spent around 1000eur)
