People who say Barry Bonds doesn't deserve to be in Hall of Fame are ridiculous

Bonds was basically the norm back then - I would say 50-70% of the league was juicing between 1993-2006. Even before steroids, if you look at 1992-1998, Bonds was overall the best player in baseball clean while rest of the league was juiced to the gills. Once it became an even playing field, Bonds was the greatest of all time

How is it unfair for a guy to be using the same supplements as the rest of the league was?

in 1993, as skinny Barry, he hit .336 - .458-.1.136 - 46 HR (only in 530 ABs) - 123 RBI - 29 Stolen bases. He was a better overall player clean than guys like Sosa were on steroids

Anyone who knows anything knows Bonds is the GOAT. Only reason he's not in the HOF is because he was a dick to the media. Meanwhile a test failing scum bag like David Ortiz is getting in first ballot.

if only he stayed natty. there was no reason to juice and ruin his HOF chances. he was good enough without it.

you think Babe Ruth faced pitchers on steroids who were throwing 101 miles per hour like Eric Gagne was?

watch that video and tell me Bonds isn't the GOAT
i think bonds wouldve done just fine without roids

Most feared hitter in the juice ball era.

The pitchers were on juice too.

Intentionally walked with bases loaded. That almost never happens.

Bonds is the goat. I'd put him ahead of Ruth.

Baseball is chitty to players though. They have a history of blackballing major stars to preserve some made up integrity that doesn't exist.

Bonds between 1990 and 1998 averaged around 7-9 wins above average. Thomas career best WAR season was 7.0 WAR. Clean Bonds (before 1999) had 9 seasons above 7 WAR

we're comparing clean to clean. Bonds was still much better than Frank Thomas. Clean Bonds was slightly better offensively than Thomas...you add defense and baserunning and it's a huge difference.
ur assuming u know EXACTLY wen bonds started the juice. he could have taken chit that didnt make him blow up when he will still on the pirates.
more faulty logic OP, tsk tsk.

not to mention they were facing the same juiced pitchers. This isnt to deny bonds was a beast. Its just obvious he had an advantage over other superstars of his era because he was on juice and they werent. it isnt that hard to understand

What do you think Ted Williams would have done facing a lefty pitcher with a 98 mph fastball and the nastiest slider ever?

This has to be bait, did you see miguel cabrera the past decade? or pujols?

Jason Giambi
Gary Sheffield

70-90% of the biggest homerun hitters in that era are already confirmed to be on juice. I bet you multiple of the other so called "clean" names probably did it too

The only guy I believe was truly clean was Ken Griffey JR and MAYBE Frank Thomas, that's really it
Griffey's injuries later on in his career were pretty suspicious of an early age juicer. And Thomas had a huoooge swelled up noggin too. You couldn't see the muscle development because he liked chili dogs too. I doubt there were any big name players not on juice in the 90s.

Most of the great pitchers were white

Also Ruth was hitting more homers than entire teams

He was also a dominant pitcher BTW

Probably something like

.340 - .550 - .700 - 1.250 OPS - 950 homeruns
What would Bonds career numbers look like if pitchers actually pitched to him?

"Barry Bonds holds most of the records for intentional walks, including four in a nine-inning game (2004), 120 in a season (2004), 668 in his career—more than the next two players on the all-time list, Albert Pujols (309) and Hank Aaron (293), combined— and 21 in the postseason."

Bonds numbers would have been unapproachable by anyone if his intentional walks numbers weren't so ridiculous.

NO ONE in the history of the game compares to the fear he put into opposing pitchers/managers.

What I don't understand is how so many people still believe to this day that celltech bicycling is not only done in all professional level sports (and even most D1 college, even down to some D2 college level), but is the norm. Will celltech automatically elevate someone from say backup level pro athlete to elite? Absolutely not. But just like in basic lifting, it can propel the above average to elite, average to above average, below average to average, and so forth.

Don't get me wrong, there are some positions in pro sports where I don't think it's absolutely necessary to make it to an exceptionally high level. Take QB in the NFL, for example - it's entirely possible to be pretty average in terms of general athleticism, yet have a rocket arm and high football IQ and still succeed as a top-tier QB in the NFL - Peyton Manning (though he was pretty tall, at least), Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Brett Favre, etc., just to name a few. Obviously, being Cam Newton level athletic isn't a requirement to succeed at that position. But lol @ anyone who thinks people become the best at most positions in the NFL, best home run sluggers in the MLB, best sprinters in the Olympics, best bicyclists in the world, etc. without it. It's like people seriously believe that there were guys close to or even better than Barry Bonds's later career home run hitting who were pure natties... it just doesn't make any sense to think that absolute top tier athletes at something like that wouldn't have absolutely every edge going for them at their disposal, from genetics, to work ethic at the game, and indeed - celltech.

Keeping Bonds out of the MLB Hall of Fame is just as pathetic as stripping Lance Armstrong of his Tour De France titles was. Everyone does it at the level those guys were at, but they also happened to be the best of the best among those groups of athletes. Lol @ punishing them for that whilst simultaneously burying their heads in the sand about all of the countless others who did do it/do it that never got popped for it, or at least not badly enough or with enough publicity to have their entire sports legacies tarnished over it.

make no mistake about it, it was a terrible ballpark for a lefty power hitter. You needed to crush it 420 feet to get a homerun into dead right center. That robbed him at least of 80 homeruns. Avg ballpark is like 375 to right center
Ruth played in the deadball era with longer parks, and baseballs and bats that weren't as lively as modern times
