Even if he made physical contact (which he didn't) it would have to be borderline life or death to justify a taser to the face and a high bar to justify taser use in general.

For me, I did a six year enlistment with the Air Force, got my first honorable. I immediately joined Army ROTC at the college I was going to after finishing my first enlistment. During that time, I joined a simultaneous membership program to be in the guard while I went to college and completed ROTC. Once I graduated college and commissioned I was separated from the guard because I assessed for active duty. That was number two. Enlistment bonus’ will vary based on needs of the military, current manning situation, etc. The military does try to keep people in, but not too hard a lot of the time.
