https://abcnews.com/video/134304126/
He was amazing back in the day. Even faster than King Henry. I'm so freaking bummed out right now.

true muh als story:
have a friend who has ALS...found out a year ago. it came on real slowly but he is basically falling apart. Thing about this dude is he is 6'2.75....he makes sure to aware of .75 ..I've known him since high-school. anyways tall, blonde, blue eyed...yet muh manlet ass (tears running down muh face about muh height as i write this) still gets better looking women. TWO of his gfs have openly come on to me behind his back (of course I was like fuck off and they broke up anyways soonthereafter so no need for awaring him).
anyways, he is also super fit. like i remember flying to Florida to help him in a triathalon ( i had to maintain his bike and gear while he was training). I vociferously told him all this getting fit shit was SUPER DUPER GAY! btw YEARS AGO!
even then i was Like ....why lift when its all about face?
anyways, he has longtime kept a very strict protocol of his caloric intake/protein etc since college. he was very fit until last year. He still looked good a year ago. When I found out he had ALS I had to google it cuz really didn't know what it was. upon reading symptoms ....muh FIRST THOUGHT was ...it was all that gayass getting fit bullshit he did and maybe his strict diet.
OF COURSE, i was right! (as usual). athleticism has a correlation with those who get ALS. you should not be burning your muscles or whatever.
cliffs: just relax (except around blacks obvsly).

not only that but there are so many muscles internally that get affected as well (can anybody say "i need to take a dump?") . thats why this NFLer can't talk. he wants to talk but his throat muscles can't move.
more people should be aware to NOT GET SUPERFIT!
btw: i think lifespan for NFLers is unusually low anyways....maybe mid60s? yeah...take the money and run. that is what smart (actually smart) NFLers do....like the guy with the golden arm who used to QB for Indy....mofo peaced out with his bag after a few injuries. he'll actually win the race compared to all these people who train super hard.

What causes it
hoping to help muh friend. there doesnt' seem to be a cause that they can pinpoint. there seems to be lots of correlations (genes, athleticism, etc.) but not are certain (ie. like smoking assoc with lung cancer).
there isn't even a specific test for it. they basically test for everything else ....and then give up and say ALS which turns out to be like 80% likely (as you see the symptoms progress/loss of muscle control).

I think blunt force trauma and repeated concussions probably causes it, a lot of boxers and mma fighters get it
Gettin ur head smashed in or the way NFL players collide isn't good for the brain, obviously
