It’s better to live in hotels than have a house

Because you can live for very cheap in hotels in different parts of the world.

You can get different hotels when you want and they can be located wherever you want like downtown close to everything like 7-eleven and McDonald’s.

You don’t need to clean it because other people clean it for you. I don’t want to spend time cleaning a place because that’s boring and I don’t want to so it’s better someone else cleans it.

You don’t need a big house, it’s better to just live in a hotel or have an apartment.

i think some of the super wealthy kinda choose to live like this...once you have more money than you can ever realistically spend (talking 100s of millions) the "pride" that goes along with "home ownership" can lose some luster.

When you have that kind of money, all travel and hotel stays are also tax-deductible, which lowers your taxable income. They would rather spend the money on lifestyle than pay it to the IRS. (Super Ded fkn Srs)

Its good to live somewhere fully paid for and owned by YOU, where you cannot get kicked out. Hotels, renting apartments etc. you are at someone else's mercy.

Living on a cruise ships is what a lot of old people do. That's probably the best value proposition because your food is covered too.

i've also seen the "vila at sea" things where you pay like $100k and $2000 per month to live on a cruise ship that goes all over the world. pricey but for some might be more interesting than the typical home ownership path

Why not just buy a condo and gain equity?

Also, I wouldn’t want to live in the 3rd world. Hotels in America are expensive.

I wouldn't mind the cruise ship thing. But then im strapped to a ship for so many weeks at a time before hitting a port somehwere. I mean, I'd like the freedom to plot my own course around america first.

Even like Holiday Inn expresses - clean/affordable plus they are all over. Wifi/free breakfast every morn, small workout room/pool etc. You can get those for less than 150/day in most places or Hampton Inns. Watched this guys youtube channel who is doing it vs retirement homes..how much he was saving. No property/school taxes/maintenance/utilities with owning. retirement homes well north of $500/DAY if you do the math. This guy loved it. Said he had his room turned over once every 2-3 days but could've every day if he wanted. Did his laundry at hotel..didn't have to deal with scum at the public places. If he got tired os seeing the sites in a spot..he bolted. Fkn perfect

Ownership is an imaginary legal construct and is a liability.

i could see this being interesting too. $150x30 =$4.5k. could probably be all in with food/transportation for $7k/month. if someone has the money in retirement and no obligation maybe a mix of hotels all over the world

If you're gonna stay at a Hotel, it needs a Kitchen. Extended Stay is a better option.

Most Americans barely bring in $4500/month. No way they could stay in a hotel
