Landon Donovan on why the US can't compete at soccer on the World stage
In the video "Why the USMNT is Not a Legit Contender on the World Stage," Landon Donovan cites a profit-driven, pay-to-play youth system and lack of elite coaching as major hurdles to the U.S. developing world-class soccer talent. He argues that a lack of early technical training and reliance on a college-based pipeline, rather than professional academies by age 16-17, keeps the U.S. behind other top nations.
NO. HE IS WRONG. its the exact fucking opposite (btw: watching France vs Morocco right now both shitholes tbh). The reason US soccer will never succeed is America is MUCH MUCH richer than all these nations (maybe even combined tbh).
what all these successful teams in the world cup seem to share is...
1. the Black - so basically a poor genetically-gifted person who has to climb his way out of poverty, succeeding at soccer to attain the lifestyle of the average American dentist.
2. Poverty - massive poverty so that almost everyone who is competitive has only one choice to get out of poverty, soccer
3. No variety in sports/lowIQ - the reason this is shared is because the complexity of these nations involvement in sports begins and ends with soccer. poor kids running back and forth kicking the cheapest sports equipment maybe next to golf-tees.
In the US, kids initially play soccer because of its extreme lowIQ (aka low barrier to entry) then move on to more technical and variable sports they can actually be good at. Other countries don't have this luxury.

where I grew up it was only middle-upper class elitist types who played soccer. which is so different from the concept of you just need a ball to play, which is how it is in the rest of the world.
so, he's right. the rest of the world pulls from all their athletes, we only pull from the rich clique

y'know what the GOAT richcel sport is in the US??? fucking swimmminng. EVery fucking person who is good at swimming in college comes from a rich family. I dunno its up there with skiing to me. I bet only polo could usurp swimming tbh.
that proves that there is investment in soccer...however the crux of my argument is there is high-variety of sports in the US (just like everything else; this is why EUs are posting tiktoks about the amazement of America).

paying to play soccer in a league in US is definitely mostly a middle class-rich white activity

I grew up poor. The only people I knew who watched soccer were immigrants. I went to school with some kids from Turkey, Ukraine, Ethiopia, Colombia and other random countries. First generation kids of refugees and shit. They would all hang out and kick the soccer ball around during lunch. No American kids, White or Black, gave a fook about soccer.
But now that I’ve been watching the World Cup I think Americans are missing out. The sport really is exciting to follow. Not as exciting as football because every game is high stakes in the NFL, but more exciting than baseball or basketball.

All of your points are about race or IQ levels. You can't even objectively analyze sports without bringing up all these weird nazi talking points. Not to mention the immense superiority complex it takes to think you know better than a fucking soccer world champion. Sucks that you don't say this stuff IRL or you'd realize how retarded you really sound. You're cooked and you don't even know it.
Soccer is super expensive especially once you start doing U14+ travel etc. Poverty is a good motivator but overall it just doesn't matter as much here, its too expensive and it doesn't pay.
To your last point it gets very technical past the high school level as far as spacing, discipline, and learning tactics based on the other teams playing style or strengths. Nowadays they even have analytics like xG, expected posession, etc.

Do not think that what is hard for you to master is humanly impossible; and if it is humanly possible, consider it to be within your reach.

I'll be more PC wif you. basically, the world is MOSTLY a second-rate shithole compared to the US. this is something I've long said after traveling. yes the US has its problems but nothing insurmountable like many other countries. EVEN Canada is dependent on the US for over 80% of their GDP.
this is why you see the same tropes in soccer....its their one way out + national glory. would it be nice to see the US do better? yes. but the scope of the US is so broad and likely because their is an undercurrent of general-wealth for most (thus why immmigrants playing soccer mexicans in LA or something are STILL in the US crossing the border at any cost, the same reason Indians would and are rather killing themselves then having to go back re: h1b loss).
also nazi talking point or not...the black does seem genetically gifted for many sports. i mean the nba is 90% black for example. many variables affect this though and I am being circuitous in my reasoning but in a boxing match or you gonna be the cuck that bets on the white guy over the black guy? HELL NAH!

that is one of the reasons its considered a white sport in the US. parents almost certainly have traveled to Europe and picked up on its popularity. wouldn't doubt if many think american sports are uncultured...kinda like how F1 is elevated right now (boring as hell for the most part...win pole...win race). The reasoning is the same as maybe a woman having a prada handbag vs coach. clear signal that it is handmade italian aka out of reach for most. soccer somehow was embraced by the rich white suburbs...it is eseentially a white sport in the US for that reason.
EDIT: that was muh argument...it ALREADY has investment in the US. however you need the blacks and the poors to also play along for it to actually be compettiieve with poor black countries (our blacks vs. their blacks which seems to be the overall trend of the world cup)
poors have always played soccer (ie immigrant poors) but only know with Bidens migrants really is there a huge influx of popularity.
not buying it...after the world cup (in fact already with the US out no one cares) itll subside again.
