With all of the attention in the press on transgender policies these days, thought I'd post to help others realize that we are actually people and not freaks. Our human rights are becoming more accepted as time goes by.

A bit about myself, was straight until 38 years old. I was a fairly normal college educated/white collar professional at a tech company asian american living in southern california. Got married at 30, divorced at 34, no kids.

At 38 started to transition, 40 now but actually still get carded. I'm pre-op, but on hormones. Most of the time, because the way I dress, people think I'm a butch lesbian (helps to have no facial hair growth anymore). I know they say that men who transition after puberty can't pass as a female, but it helps that before I transitioned, I had a small delicate frame, always appeared very young, and no body or leg hair growth. If you saw me at the gym, you would think I'm either a butch lesbian or a weirdly attractive tranny.

Why did I do it? I think I just got tired of all of the games with trying to convince women into physical intimacy and a regular hetero relationship, thinking back it was almost all work with brief periods of happiness. Now, every day I get hit on and propositioned multiple times. The funny thing is that I don't think about sex as much anymore and just content being myself and not having to compete as a man.

In truth, life is much happier now. I work at a nice job, live in a nice place, drive a nice car, work out a lot and generally keep to myself other than a small group of friends.

Also, not all of us are weak. Although the one thing I noticed was that my upper body got much weaker, my lower body strength is solid. I routinely out squat the middle aged guys much bigger than me at the gym and with better form.

I know I will get flamed a bit, but wanted to put myself out there to answer any questions with the hope that it will make others more aware that we are normal people too.

No way I'm posting my face. While I don't regret transitioning, one of the reasons why I keep to myself, other than that I'm normally a bit of an introvert, is that I've experienced a lot of scary situations from stupidly ignorant people.

Also, I don't really consider myself as gay, more pansexual. For me, before sex was all about the act with the release inside a woman as the finale.

Now, its more an act of intimacy. I did not have sex often before, but even though I have more opportunities now, I probably have sex less, a few times a month at most. The difference is that before I considered myself as the dominant partner, now, I'm exclusively the submissive one. Yes, mostly men, but believe it or not, there are women out there that like to be dominant with someone like me, helps that I'm smaller than most women I guess.

I used to measure it in cm because it seemed bigger, it was almost 10 cm before, but much smaller now, around 6 cm. Another big benefit of transitioning is that when I was straight, I was always a bit insecure about my size, but now I could care less.

Did you transition because you always felt like a female or because you were tired of girls not giving you any attention as a man?

So you were a straight guy and couldnt cut it living a normal life so you want the rest of the world to accept you. I dont care about you or how you feel youre part of the disease in our society. In a weird way, yes, I did "give" up trying to compete as a man. Before, I was not only small, but I guess looked very beta. I always thought of myself of straight, but people often assumed I was gay even though I got married.

I did not have much facial hair before, could go two or three days without it being noticeable and did not have enough to grow a beard (the chin/jaw hair did not go up to my sideburns). After taking blockers and hormones, and a few permanent hair removal treatments, it does not grow back at all. I like the way facial hair looks, and always wanted it before, but now I don't know how guys can deal with it, seems very uncomfortable.

My bra size is somewhere between and A and B. But the nipples are much much larger now, sometimes gets very sensitive to point of sometimes painful if a shirt is too tight. I used to hate that my body was somewhat hairless before to the point where I had almost no leg hair even, but now I have even less and with the hormones makes the transition much easier.

To answer your question, what's it like having boobs, well, its not as big as most women, with a shirt just looks like I have a bad case of b@tch t#ts, but shirtless, it does look like a female. I don't mind the looks and when I do get intimate with someone and depending on how they touch it there, the sensation is almost as stimulating as the sex act itself. However, certain things are actually more difficult now, like running. They are not big but if I don't wear a bra, the constant jiggling and rubbing against clothes becomes very uncomfortable after a while.

Easy for you to say, you are 6'3" and will never be excluded from consideration by women because of your height. Again, not only was I a bit short at 5'6, I was also small framed and most likely low test due to almost no facial/body hair. I can't tell you how many times I went to parties and clubs and ended up embarrassed in one way or another. Here's one example, went out with a few friends after divorce. Keep in mind my friends are not giants or muscle heads, I'm probably in better shape than all of them, most are out of shape. But they range in height from 5'10" to 6'4", all with facial hair. They tried to hook me up with another woman, things were going ok, nothing special. But then some meathead looking guy came over and started hitting on her in front of me. When I tried to tell him to leave us alone, the guy pushed me, I fell down, got up, and he challenged me by saying what you going to do now, ***. My friends are not fighters and they told me to let it go. Worst part is, the girl went with the meathead.
