Working will become obsolete. We will all become millionaires while robots do our jobs. There will be theme parks where the games are doing chores like you used to back in the 2000s. Food will be soilent green, which we later discover is made from people. Etc

improvements, maintenance, stepping in if it stops working, some jobs like being a singer are way more shielded to the rise of the machines than others

Doubt it'll happen in our life time, we'll see increased automation but we aren't at the stage where we trust machines that much. In the next 100 years? Most likely.

If robots are doing everything, how will people make money?

how you become millionaire without a job?

what would be the purpose of creating something when people don't have money?

who would create them?

if they create them, how will people buy them when they don't even have jobs?

Automation is the next industrial revolution and it's already in motion. The way tech is going, it was auto industry yesterday, fast-food today and probably medical tomorrow.

You need to ask yourself if you think it's remotely possible or imminently possible that your job might be lost to automation and how will you prepare for it?

The absolute latest prediction for this is 2,100. (And between now and then, jobs will go away continously)

Computer power improves exponentially.

Think about how quickly self driving cars were put on the road.... chit was FAST.

Yep.

The transition for humans to cross over into the new paradigm of a "no economy" society might be ugly for a little while.

My guess is that welfare will be utilized by more and more until there's not even a competing financial economy among humans anymore.

I think it's gonna be rough ride for average joe. Rich folks will go to Mars or some other planet and rest of the population will be left behind as slaves or steak.

But they aren't all that prolific and there's a fair amount of distrust. Don't get me wrong, I think we'll see more and more of it, but not complete obsolescence of human labor unless there's a real culture shift.

The distrust is unfounded because self driving cars are far safer than human driving cars.

Technology evolves way faster than humans. That's true.

Even right now I personally do not take full advantage of the technological advances that make our lives easier. I do a lot better than most, though.

AI will be fully ready to do 100% of everything for us, but we need to get on board.

Energy efficiency of stuff we use is already improving exponentially AND alternative energy is improving exponentially (with technology)

Oil, or "peak oil" is the least of our concern.

what if all of these giant wars aren't about oil, or terrorism related activities...

it's a war of the future. governments know that in the future humans will be eventually obsolete, our population will rapidly decrease, and people want to restart civilization so that the robots and computers don't take over

maybe we should have nuclear war after all

Chit will hit the fan once technology starts replacing skilled work. Remember, technology growth is exponential. We will see AI in our lifetimes.

Here's an article from an Engineering Professor and Futurist
http://www.dukechronicle.com/article...ll-be-replaced

TC: Is there a date by which the majority of human jobs will be eliminated?

VW: We’re talking about 15 to 20 years, in 2030 or so. We will have mass unemployment. In the meantime, we will see specific sectors like transportation being disrupted, but in 2030 that’s when we see robots basically doing all of the jobs of human beings.

TC: How likely are digital doctors?

VW:The technology has not been developed yet. It’s in development right now. For example, *** Watson is now analyzing cancer data and it can diagnose different types of cancer better than humans can. Already for some types of cancer, AI [Artificial Intelligence] tools have an edge over human beings. In the next five years or so, you’ll see that it becomes mandatory to have AI analyze that type of data because if you don’t and a human makes an error, that person will get sued, so we’ll rely on AI more and more.

I’d rather trust an app over a human being any day. I don’t want to talk to some old guy who makes me feel good. I want the hard data and I want solid analysis. I don’t care about the human touch. Your generation is more into technology than my generation was. Your generation already communicates through technology; you don’t need the face-to-face interaction anymore.

Cliffs: STEM and Medicine careers not safe in a few decades. Comp Sci will be taken over by AI. All over boyos. Time to LDAR
