I wouldn't say the skin makes a potato dish taste 'better' the way some here have suggested, but I don't mind the taste either and it's definitely nutritious. So potato skin crew fo sho.

I mean, they're literally dug out of the dirt, that's pretty dirty no?

It depends on the variety too I guess. The recommended potato for baking is russet though and those trap so much dirt in the skin, I feel like I can never get it all out. What I'm really OCD about is making sure all the eyes are out because those are poisonous.

I rarely use russet potatoes. I stick with red, yellow and white...very easy to just rinse/clean with your hands and they taste the best.

Are they really poisonous? I actually buy little potatoes. I airfry them - they’re already pre washed . I do buy sweet potatoes and when I have used whole potatoes I just do what I said. Even the little potatoes I’ll get one that tastes like straight up dirt. I just eat it. In fact it makes me feel like I’m eating the realest fucking shit on this planet(lol srs) anyways- the little potatoes I had had like a massive amount of eyes on them and I just half assed got rid of them but now I’m concerned . I didn’t die obviously but now I’m wondering how close I came
