Eventually science will allow us to store our consciousness like a hard drive or transfer it into a machine body to live forever. Could be 100 years, could be 1000, assuming Ai doesn't destroy humanity, that's where we will end up. It will be the advancement that allows humans to finally move to space and colonize planets.

I believe AI recreations of loved ones will be readily available so it'll be as if they're still around, but as far as uploading one's consciousness to the cloud- I don't think that's something science could ever recreate

Science can only tinker with the existing biological script.

Consider a tomato seed stuck on the corner of your mouth, after eating a BTL sandwich, for example.

This seed, if planted, will grow and produce a new plant, with new seeds, almost without effort.

Science cannot re-create this from scratch. It will never be able to. It can attempt to modify the existing seed 'code' and alter it. But it cannot create a brand new seed and it cannot create a brand new plant.
