During the scamdemic, the government was just handing out money. Nobody was working and producing, causing short supply but still demand so prices went up.

yes and that's not true inflation

thats why some people define inflation by the money supply

That's called demand pull.

There is a cost factor in how raw materials and labor has gone up causing everything to increase in price.

A big cause now is capital holding groups buying up everything. This has set an imbalance to the competition factor.
