Nah, my goal physique is just to be skinny with abs again, and then go from there and build up my arms/shoulders. No delusions that anybody labeled "fitness model" is natty and/or achievable.
Nope

I don't thinkhis physique is achievable for anyone, whether it be natty or not. World class genetics are not given to everyone.
But I do think someone could achieve a similar physique natty. At 5'9 I don't think a single digit BF% in the 180's in unattainable. Will that person look like Zane at that weight, hell no, but could they be comparable, sure.

For me it's been different, I've always had the goal to be bigger with no specific end goal in mind. I've always known professional bodybuilders and fitness models go the non natty route and I've never directly compared myself to them and been upset by the difference in size/mass they can achieve.
Instead I've been pleasantly surprised with just how much muscle I've been able to add onto my frame year after year, I won't ever have a goal physique because all I need is some constant improvement and I'll keep at it, naturally.

I remember reading Flex magazine back in the day. They had a section where readers would send in their transformation pics. I remember thinking how unbelievably chitty they all looked compared to the pros featured in the articles or even the smaller models in the ads. It slowly sunk in that that was the life of a natty

I can hit single digit BF% in the low/mid 170's and I have only been training for five years.
Give me another five years and I guarantee I can sit in the 180's at a single digit BF%
This chit takes a long time, any physique that is admirable usually took over a decade of consistency to achieve

Denial phase was about 6-7 years for me. Thought that 'eating clean' enough, 'training hard' enough, and using a full line-up of natty supplements would eventually get me any physique (aside from IFBB pro calibre). Natty delusions that after enough time, patience and sacrifice I'd get there. lol.
Joking aside, it's a tough pill to swallow. Seeing guys 3-5+ years younger start going to the gym looking like sticks, and then a year later they cruise on orange juice and [pretty much] overnight get that dried, permapump, 3D delt look. Suddenly they're strutting around like they know everything about lifting and dieting as well. All because of dat der Tropicana.
I've just accepted that I will do the best I can do for the time being. If I want to take the next step physique-wise I know what I have to do. Just not worth it right now for me.

edit: i wasn't far off but here is the one that came to mind where it says "the road ahead"

In fact, those ads were responsible for me being a bit of a hermit for a few (3-4) years. Thought that I had to 'sacrifice' to get a physique like that so I would often 'sacrifice' eating out with people, going out, etc. Cringe thinking about it...

Some of you are delusional. Frank Zane bro is delusional. Those stating Greg plitt have to talk about what time period and I think it's easy to see why. The dude who posted the skinny dude, showing off his abs that someone said isn't achievable. That physique is achievable but only for a brief period of sane time and with a pump. No pump and you won't look likE that
when I found out, I was hardcore in denial. Because when I was 8% looking in the mirror I still looked jacked, or so I thought. Until I saw a picture of myself with my shirt on. You couldn't even tell I lifted. And that's when it hit hard.
But then misc saved the day and someone made a thread about how our standards are higher and to 'normal' people we still look big because they don't know anything about lifting. And they weren't kidding.
BUt yeah, I was annoyed for a bit.

My goal physique was Zyzz and I knew right away he wasn't natty. Didn't really bother me. My goals were always more focused on how I felt I could realistically look with my own genetic base.
Even now, my goal physique isn't anything that would be mired on Misc. I'm just trying to find that point where I have the most mass I can carry, at 10% body fat, while being easy enough to maintain.
TRAINING FOR DECADES
DA BEST NUTRITIONISTS AND PERSONAL TRAINERS
IT'S THEIR JOB SO THEY CAN JUST TRAIN ALL DAY
Brb implying that progress is linear and there's no such thing as plateaus
Brb implying that more time spent training results in more muscle gainz and that recovery time doesn't matter
Brb implying that nutritionists and personal trainers make that much of a difference especially in an already experienced lifter
I feel like a lot of people are also deluded because they think that being realistic is the same as being defeatist, but it's not. You can still work hard without being absolutely retarded.

Their physiques are top tier but once you understand what they look like every day, walking around, outside the gym, you'd see how all those illusions go out the window and their look is very very realistic for a natty.
IMO its guys like you who are fooled by photography and angles/video editing that are delusional because with enough trickery you can make some 5'10 160lb kid whos been lifting for 1-2 years look like a non natty. Sad there's people who still don't understand this.

It's admirable in a funny way
And how can man die better, than facing fearful odds, for the ashes of his fathers, and the temples of his gods?

THE ROCK IS NATTY

"He's in the gym all day bro"
"He trains fukin hard bro. Like really fukin hard"
"He's always looked like that bro even in high school bro"
"He eats like 500 grams of protein every day bro. Real clean diet bro"
"He probably has his own personal chef and trainer bro"
Also, agree with your last point. I don't say all this because I've given up. Far from it. I train as hard/harder than ever. Been at it since I was 16 as well and been recording calories for nearly 7 years. Still love the lifestyle, I just have more clarity as for what's attainable and I've got no time whatsoever for liars and con artists.

Looks like he even believes himself in that video since he's so used to lying.
