Why - it's just what my heart wants.

Food lots of rice, beans, noodles. Butter
Olive oil. Trail mix. Cheese. Tuna. I eat 3lbs a day still down 8lbs.

Shower every 5-7 days when I get to a hostel in a town.

Not boring or lonely in the least. Lots of interesting people on the trail. Don't have time to be bored you're either hiking or exhausted. Setting up camp takes a good hour.

Did you start the hike with a group of people? still with some of them? Doing this with a couple people would make it more enjoyable I would think. Did you have to do any hitchhiking yet?

Man I want to do this.

Started solo have met people along the way. You'll stay at the same camp sites for a few days and then you'll usually split up at a town. Loads of interesting people on the trail.

Have you already hiked across Roan Mountain? The three bald peaks there...round bald, jane bald, and grassy ridge.

That's probably my favorite area to hike. Because of no trees the winds can get really high. I camped there once and I was kept all night wondering if the wind would destroy my tent lol.

Also beauty spot in erwin, tn is pretty cool.

Bluemoon Cafe in Shepardstown, WV was solid. Went there after a long day of hiking. Either I was starving or they had the best food on earth. Either way it's worth stopping in. It's not far from Harpers Ferry.

😂 I've learned my lesson about camping on mountains. Frozen my ass off the other night on tray mountain and that was only 4500ft. Will keep an eye out for those balds.

Insane view. So glad I didn't stay in town. Swam in the lake too - really refreshing.
In Gatlinburg today I got free tickets to Dollywood so I've been riding roller coasters all day lol. Weird but fun place.
