You have to produce your id for flashing highs now?

Michigan also does not have a stop and ID law, meaning that the officer cannot stop someone and demand identification without reasonable suspicion for a crime

Kindly, shut the fuk up thanks.

If the cop feels their life is being threatened, they are allowed to defend themselves. It has been held up in court that this will sometimes include discharging their weapon. I would never in my wildest dreams disobey a direct order from a cop. That is how all of these situations arise. They ask you to do something, do it. You can fight it in court later. If he would have given him the license, he would be alive.

LMAO you're an idiot.....

Anytime you get pulled over for a traffic violation, by law, you HAVE to show your license.

You don't have to show your license if you are just walking down the street and a cop stops to talk to you. Because walking down the street is not a violation.

Those are two totally different scenarios

I mean, the officer wouldn't have gotten away with it if the kid had just handed over his license.

Or if he'd gotten out of the car when instructed.

Or if he'd laid down when instructed.

Or if he'd put down his phone when instructed.

Or if he'd put his hands behind his back when instructed.

There was a pretty long sequence of fuarkups on the part of the kid to get here.

It's horrible and the officer had plenty of opportunities to realize he was making it worse by trying to outdouche a teenager, but still.
Nah, fukk that. I’m not doing that.

Are you fukking stupid? He got pulled over for flashing his high-beams. The cop investigates. Any requests to show ID, to step out of the car at this point is a LAWFUL ORDER - meaning the cop is performing an INVESTIGATION and you MUST COMPLY.

HOWEVER - there are rights you have, meaning unlawful search and seizure. Unless the cop has reason to believe you're hiding something, you can request not to be searched and your property not be seized. Irregardless, if a cop happens to do these unlawfully - it should be brought up in court. Not during your arrest/ticket.

It blows my mind how many people attack cops. The cops are there to give you a ticket on what THEY believe you did unlawful. When you get approached by a cop, now is not a time to argue/debate your innocence, that is for a Judge/Jury and trial to decide. Why get angry and risk your life when you can go home safely and fight the cop at court?

Show me where Michigan law states you cannot flash your high beams if you feel the other person in cross traffic has theirs on?

He flashed the officer his high's based off feeling the officers cruiser has his highs on. Quote the law please and I will back off this thread.

That kid was a typical redditor, influenced to exercise his rights but god damn, I'm a white male and respect cops cuz they are just doing their job, no matter how right I think I am, I always comply to law enforcement, I have been wrongfully handcuffed before and it's so much easier to go with the arrest experence and laugh with the officer when he removes the cuffs cuz he knows he dun goofed...
