I’ve been doing this frickin stationary bike and it’s so simple, gives your quads a great pump, no impact, gets heart rate up, and fun!! Notice huge benefits to my mood most of all. Makes me sweat like a pig and I actually have more energy afterwards. Helps my exercise tolerance and wind big time. Getting better and better at it, and it carries over to running and other cardio.
I've done cardio on a stationary bike for the past two Mondays, and it has been very nice. I appreciate you advocating for cardio training, it's been a while since I've had dedicated cardio days.

Sorry for not posting much in here guys, the past few weeks have been ****ing flying by. Life has been going very well and the effort I've been putting into my recovery has been paying off. My mood, energy, and confidence has been much higher the past few weeks and I've been crushing workouts in the gym. Also, I've really been getting better at eating less crap and focusing more on increased protein intake.

I like kombucha too, I haven’t had any in awhile, stuff is definitely an acquired taste.

Stationary bikes are cool, but I think there’s scientific research that says cardio outside is the goat.

Yes, it definitely is an acquired taste lol. And yeah, I don't disagree with cardio outside being better. Currently, my bike's chain is broken and I haven't been able to ride. But, I still get a good amount of walking in on account of not having a car.

How's it going brahs, have any fun plans for the week? I just got back from the gym. I've been having some good ass workouts this week. I don't have anything fun planned for the weekend, just gonna take it easy.

Arms keep getting stronger but feels like my quads just aren’t getting a good mind muscle connection. They also feel achey but not like DOMS, it feels like something else. I guess I have done some workouts recently that could cause some fatigue. Maybe I’m overthinking it. Gonna switch some things around about how I’m training quads. If it keeps happening I’m gonna ask for an EMG or something. I’m probably just going insane.

With my hypochondriasis I’m thinking it’s something related to my healthlike what could it be? It’s absurd of course to think I have some kind of neurological disorder, or is it? The ache is mostly in my right leg.

Anyway my pull-ups are getting better:

My wife had her birthday party last night in a brewery. Held strong, only had one or two people ask me, “are you not drinking?”

But I did have a piece of chocolate cake I kinda felt guilty about.

Good job bro you made the right choice.

You should allow yourself guilty pleasures that aren’t drugs or booze. That’s one thing I learned early on. You gotta celebrate and enjoy life and get that dopamine buzz going somehow.

Just because you aren’t drinking anymore doesn’t mean you have to become a monk who self-flagellates every time he has a bite of cake.

If you aren’t drinking, have the cake bro.

It’s not bad, mostly just when I go to stand up. Maybe a 3-4/10 at its worst.

Hard to describe. Jreacher asked if it could be a herniated disc, I guess it could be but I don’t get tingling or numbness or throbbing or pain at rest, and usually it feels better when I am exercising and worse when I haven’t been doing anything for a while.

It’s weird but I guess I’ll figure out the problem eventually.

I wanted to add that I also watched your video and then went back and watched some of your earlier videos. You've made huge progress in many ways, and I definitely think you are way bigger/more fit than you were just a couple months ago. Keep up the good work. I have a bad attention span and don't always watch your videos, but I think you do them well and cover some interesting points.

Thank you for your kindness and support! I appreciate you checking out some of my videos and I appreciate the feedback! I am glad that I have this opportunity to create online content that documents my progress through recovery. I'd say it has been helpful for me, like writing in a journal. But, I also get to get cool interactions with the viewers, like yourself!

Been a few months since I posted. Will try to be more active ITT going forward.

The good:
I got married to my girlfriend of 6 years this summer finally (the final two months of sobriety before the wedding were key in planning it out and going through with it all)
I quit my teaching job and got an entry level one in IT, which I've wanted to do for years. I got a few certificates now that I wouldn't have gotten earlier in the year because of not being confident enough wasting away days drinking and not studying and prepping for interviews.

The bad:
I got pretty drunk at my wedding, but not the worst one at the party heh. I was almost going to go through with it sober but I was getting a bit stuck-up at the reception so my wife encouraged me to have a few to loosen up but I then I went a bit too hard.

But I didn't just leave it at that because I got drunk once again a week ago when we got back from the honeymoon in secret which was not good at all and a relapse for me.

I consider the last one to be a real relapse into my old ways, which is not good.

But if I consider it from the vantage point of how I got from 2019 until July 5th this year when I was drunk almost every day of the week (save for two stints of a few months). I'm definitely making improvements that I couldn't have imagined while I was a piss-tank.

I'm not sure if I'm still an AA guy, in that I don't know if I'm quite ready to follow the program as they do. I have managed to convince my wife that maybe I have a problem with alcohol and shouldn't drink very often, and only socially not habitually, which is an improvement. She's an Italian so they have a bit of a better relationship with alcohol than my Canadian culture and coming from a family of alcoholics which is hard for her to get, but I think she does now. In any case I should do what I think is right when it comes to alcohol and not care what she or her family thinks of me in that regard.

It's funny I joke with her how about how one of her bridesmaid's bf's from Italy at the wedding got just as wasted as me but she believes he doesn't have a problem but I do because he's one of the locals who knows how to drink and just does it to have a good time, but I drink to escape my issues. It's good enough to be understood like that heh.

My goal now is to not drink until Christmas when we can go back to visit her family and just keep focusing on upskilling and trying to do well in my new job and be a good husband. If things keep improving we can think about having a kid next year, and I have to be really ready for that and not dicking around with booze.

Congratulations on the marriage, bennedetto, that's awesome!

You still have a ton of sober time under your belt, which is awesome. And it sounds like you are gaining an even better understanding of your relationship with alcohol.

I wish you the best.

I wish I could say I liked riding motorcycles. I used to ride my brother's a lot but I never bought one. It was definitely fun. Nowadays, I'm too worried about other drivers where I don't even know if I would enjoy it.

First of all congratulations and you’re on the right track, and you’re seeing success happen to you before your very eyes.

So you should look at those times you drank and think about if it was worth it. Was it?

Do you feel like you will need to drink around Christmas time?

Still working on dem pull-ups;

Overhead press is a must to get my bench up:

The secret for bench press is get good at pull-ups and overhead press srs. That’s the secret if your bench has stalled. Not sure if anyone actually cares about their bench press which it’s a pretty dumb lift TBH.

Oh I also bought a new sword on Amazon, will post pics when I get it. Total impulse buy.

Nice to see you broski! Congrats on being married!

I occasionally go to AA/NA, but I prefer SMART Recovery meetings.
