He had dinner with my mom because my sister is getting married and he wanted to settle everything out so my sister can be happy and no fights happen.

They both know we love it when they talk to eachother.

Also, its been 15 years. They are in their 50s now, getting up there in age. Being cold and bitter your whole life wont amount to chit bud

He sounds like a good man. I was asking if you had a relationship with him, because I was wondering if that set-up ever seemed to get in the way of his other dutys as a father. I seem to see that a lot. My FIL,back in the day before you had to shell out all kinds of money, got full costudy through a private agreement. My MIL was in and out of jail, but because she had her mom to watch my husband- she still got custody. Anyways, he paid her full child support so he could have his son full time with him. He still allowed visits, but it was more important he had his kid. Just thought that was awesome when I heard that. Was always curious if more men like that had to do something similar. But it sounds like your mom did the best she could too.
