age does not matter in the least.

some 18 year olds are more prepared than some 30 year olds

Why bother? Srs.

I'm all for offering anopinionto a very close friend about a subject like marriageifthey ask for it. Aside from that (and especially if the deed is already done) what's the point? You're not the one that is going to have to deal with consequences, negative or positive.

bold - it's either first part of that "but" statement or second. You can't have both. either or.

If i was you and your gf, i would simply keep my mouth shut. Sound cruel and whatnot but trust me I tried the same thing once and lost my best friend cause of it. Ive known the guy for 14 years before we stopped talking.

edit: also, i agree with geoff, age means jack chit.
My sister is still with the same guy since she was 17, got married at 20. she is 37 now.

seems like most people will side with the person they are dating for however long rather than their friend of years.... it never works well for the friendship. i understand the desire to say something, but its a tricky situation that i would probably stay quiet in.

You guys misunderstand me. I didn't mean to imply I'm going to be an active part of the discussion, I already told my gf it's not my place to speak on it at all since I don't know either one of them. I only care in the sense that I think it's ridiculous that they think getting married is a possibility between the two, based on what I've heard about them. Mostly just going to accompany gf.

But yes, much agreed stone, I told me gf too that if her friend is really set on it, all she can do is be happy or risk losing her friendship

exactly, it would have been a completely different story if she asked zack and his gf about their opinion.

now to be it looks like a "future marriage intervention"

bold - oh hands down, no question about it.

also once you share your (negative) opinion about him/her it really doesnt matter what happens between them. Somebody's going to get offended and trust will be lost. (in most cases because people suck and can't handle criticism)

--Current Job: IT system admin/manager, architect and security - work from home mostly (which rules)
--Dream Job: actor but not even gonna bother trying....always fascinated by acting. too old. but other than that, pretty much what i do now. would also like to do pen tests (if u know what that is)
--Current Location: bay area, CA
--Dream Location: might as well stay here, CA....but also OH for parts of the year

might sound weird but i actually like living in ohio...not full time when the weather is sht but i travel there often. would be cool if i could cash out and spend more time at a place i got out there. had a good gym i was training at too. ppl act like there's not much to do in ohio but there is depending on what you do and how you plan..like there are festivals in Dayton...went to a celtic one that was cool a few years ago and a bacon fest.

now i train at 24 hr fitness in CA which is also cool but not the same, different workout partners. but work is so much better for me in CA as far as $$$ is concerned :/
