Because the original creator of James Bond actually intended him to be White. There is no such thing as a White James Bond or Black James Bond. There's only one James Bond; a fictional character who IS White. Like I said previously, it's like changing Lui Kang to be White. Same concept. He just wouldn't be Lui Kang anymore.

Not really the right fit for it. Great actor, but he just doesn't fit the role in terms of appearance. Side note though, Flemming actually wanted Bond to be good looking yet cold in the eyes. Also for what its worth he did state in novels that Bond was white. That being said I want Idris Elba to be the next Bond.


Or just give it to Hugh Laurie and make Bond a sarcastic dik, semi srs.

Original writer also intended for him to be blue eyed, 6'2 and a boxer. Are we really doing this? When novels are made into films various aspects of the character may and have been retconned. Its not the end of the world. Saying there is no such thing as a white or black james bond and then saying james bond should be white doesnt make alot of sense, though I can somewhat understand some of the reasoning.

Maybe it's just because I grew up in his Era of bonds, but I really liked Pierce Brosnan. I think everyone really disliked him as a bond though but I always think of him when I hear bond. Not to mention goldeneye 007 was goat game when I was a kid and he's the face of that game.

Ive really enjoyed Daniel Craig as Bond. He bought a rougher tough guy persona without that conceded superior attitude (too much) to it then others before him. With that said he never seemed to really like the role and it has limited his other acting opportunities since. He's also admitted to not liking the rigorous exercise needed for the roles other then the first movie and wanting to see if he could do it.

Someone else above already said it, I'd like to see Tom Hardy as the next Bond

Considering Flemming wrote Casino Royale based on a spy called ''James Bond'' who looked like Hoagy Carmichael (Not 100% sure that's actually the guys name though) to say Bond isn't white is wrong. Although i'm all for changing the ethnicity so long as the actual character and mannerism's remain.

Thats the key.

I get the annoyance over the potential for SJW tomfoolery...but people need to be logical. Elba encapsulates ALOT of the connery style bond which so many modern actors dont. Fassbender is the only other consideration that makes sense.

Timothy Dalton – 6'2, blue eyes, white

Daniel Craig – 5'10, blue eyes, white

Notice how they all fit the mold you just described...? With the exception of Connery's eye color and Craig being a tad on the short side, neither of which are that noticeable on screen anyway.
