****, I just temped for a month, did nothing and I got paid an entire months salary until they terminated me. For no reason, they said I wasn't a fit, but seems they're hiding something, no company takes a month to figure out someone is not fit. Esp when they didn't even give them any work.

But I will have made about $3000 after taxes for doing nothing. I just wish I can continue this cycle and have a career as non minimum wage seat warmer.

Work harder not smarter. This is why I'm glad I'm not a laborer, they're a dime a dozen and contractors treat them that way. Even Union laborers. OP, learn a skilled trade or go back to school and do something else.

Maybe they fired you because you did nothing.


You should have felt by the first two weeks if you were a fit or not based on the way they were treating you srs. Or they ran short on money and had to make lay-offs.

yeah they're both completely different. I noticed my forearms getting huge ever since I got into construction and my natural strength going up rapidly vs when I was lifting.

And I also worked an office job, in the supplement industry to boot, so it was encouraged to hit the gym throughout your work day. Worked for maybe an hour in the morning, misced, YouTube, etc. for the rest of the day. Made good money. Was bored as absolute dog chit and felt like a beta *******.

nope no benefits, tried to get into construction jobs but they wont accept me, did run into one guy said he might be able get me masonry work, but that's just as labor intensive, planning on going to college this fall tho

No one treated me badly, they were all friendly. They didn't look like they wanted to fire me. But they could have, I don't know, but then I think they should have fired me sooner, I waited after 2 weeks to see what happened. I researched and went on investopedia to look like I was learning, but then after 2 weeks I just got over it and I realized it didn't matter. I either figure they were going to train me later or just let me go. But when it came close to a month, it felt pretty long to get a paycheck to do nothing.

But I just kinda got free money that's how I look at it. My bank acct is close to being at $50k. They didn't even assign me any work to do so how does one work when they have not been given work. Like at most, I just had to help email some employees and that's about it.

highly dependent on tips, if you live in a densely populated area its probably better. Most places will only hire females, atleast where I'm at

I love to have my mind occupied but these last 2 days were fukn chit for me

We're in transition mode and i literally did absolutely nothing all day and drove around in my company car

Even went to the gym on clock but the time lasted sooo fukn long...im not one of these fuks that can sit around all day on the clock and do absolutely nothing

Not true. I'm very top notch carpenter, none dineid it and worth 35-40$ hour. Plumber is 125$/hour and electrican is 75$/hour. Developers, home builders, fixer upers are above all of us. Theirs work worth like 500$/hour, and do believe for comerciall developers like thousands/hour.

It's not always as shiny as it looks.

Electrician that wired my house got like $50/hour to do so.. But that's only when he's actually working, he spends a lot of days with no work at all. in February he worked like 8 days out of the month.

A plumber making $125/hr as your claim is only getting a few calls a day. Average plumber in US earns $54,000 per year.

Head carpenter at major airport I audited made $80/hr and he was the top dog.

same here. School then uni then couldn't find a job so did warehouse and manufacturing work. Couldn't wait to get out. These days a work 12 hour days mostly behind a desk but its pretty chilled. After tax make 1200 a week which is ok
