This. The one cop was clearly waiting for the guy to go all the way to the ground so he could start bashing. I can almost always find something in these type cases that make me side with the cops, but not in this one. These ****** went straight mob mentality when buddy gave up.

I've applied to several police departments, each time making it rather far in the process, and ultimately not being hired. Background is clean as a whistle and I'm not bombing board interviews. I still can't receive an offer of employment by them. I was hired by US Border Patrol (withdrew from the academy two months before the date i was assigned to show up). The only reasoning I can come up with is that I'm too smart. I have friends with minor arrest records, ****ty credit ratings, horrible job history, who are complete nubs but these few guys got hired first time. They're the typical "robocop" types, I was always more of a "actually try and make a difference" type. I don't think the board interview guys want to hire someone who they can't trust won't write them up for beating people up.

Meh, if thats how you see it. They could also just be corrupt pieces of **** who felt like dishing out some "street justice" to a non-resisting victim.

At the end of the day, these cops are scumbags who just cost taxpayers potentially millions of dollars in lawsuits, court costs, and punishments. Thats what this discussion should focus on

Doesn't matter brah. Police are expected to maintain exposure in these situations, and not to use deadly force unless their lives are endangered. This guy was on his knees surrendering, so by definition, this is police brutality.

Still though, would love to know why this jackass was running to begin with, like you said, endangering lives with no regard. There is clearly a back story here.

Some news articles say that he was wanted for assault with a deadly weapon and also wanted for failing to stop when police asked him to stop. I can't find specifics about what his assault charges were, but yeah the cops seemed really pissed.
