Trying to understand what OP defines as a trade job...I did both but enjoying the STEM side more. Benefits, compensation, and freedom to invest my time and money outside of work. I am sure this does not apply to all trade jobs.

Just LOL at the entitled *******s who think college is the only way to make tons of money. Look up the statistics on millionaires....a lot of them never even went to college. Some never even made it out of high school. Trades are seriously the way to go coming from a guy who has a college degree, and works as a project manager for an industrial electrical contractor. These guys in the trades not only make bank, but they get side jobs for LIFE if they want them, and most end up in the office doing the exact job i am doing after their bodies start getting tired in their 40's and 50's. Anyone paying 100K in college for a business degree is a goob. Good luck paying that back when you could have gone into the trade and made that as a journeyman in less than 4 years.

not gonna rag on how people legally make money, but you have to see how manual labour doesn't seem attractive to some people. my "white collar" job lets me take trips for a living and live in nice hotels and expense great meals while making as much if not more than top tradesman. why would i want to be fitting pipes at 2am again?

Interesting how you have a college degree and yet you completely fail to understand the concept of outliers. Those people exist but they are far from the norm.
Half of all millionaires are self-employed or own a business.Around 80% of millionaires are college graduates.Only 18% of millionaires have Master’s degrees. Eight percent have law degrees, 6% have medical degrees, and 6% have PhDs.

It's undeniable that people with degrees make significantly more money and you're far more likely to become a millionaire with a college/graduate level education.

brb making $1,000 more PER WEEK with a professional degree than someone with no degree
brb those with no college are unemployed at twice the rate of those with college degrees and almost 5 times the rate of those with professional degrees

The vast majority of people earning salaries of $500k and up are college graduates at least. Many of them also went to graduate school.

It depend on what you do srs.

If you super smart major in CS and make 80k a year as Software Developer at some tech company then do college well, or you can just finish college then do trades.

What about if you go to college but do trade work as a hobby?

- If I wanted to get into trades I could get into mechanical work, installing hardwood floor, painting rooms, installing Window and door, building walls (heheh trump wall) and cooking

- And who do I have to thank for all that, youtube and my natural craftsman and DIY a aptitude
- I'm sorry; I couldn't hear your complaints over the sound of all this freedom!
