I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say. You can't pick a random 5'3 Asian dood and say, "here's James Bond" or a fat Black 350 pound guy and say," here's James Bond," because the specific character has already been created to look--in this case, White--, dress, move, talk, and act a certain way. Of course you cannot be completely accurate in how the original creator wanted the character to look, but at least be close to accurate. I'd still watch the new James Bond even if it was a Black guy playing him, however, it's just hard "seeing" him as James Bond. If that makes sense.

Im not sure how spectre did in the box offices but I know skyfall broke so many records that Craigs new going rate was so phenominal that most other movies couldnt afford him. Fox had to shut down the girl with the dragon tattoo series because they couldnt afford his new rate. I dont remember what it was but I think it was higher then what there offering him now

After casino royale the Bond films have gone back to the same formulaic, cliche ridden, self worshipping bull**** we've all seen literally 25 times before. There is no character development and of course James Bond has tremendous plot armour where he can obviously never be killed and there is no real drama or loss as the supporting characters are on a conveyor belt and get replaced each film - the bond girls etc.

The franchise is dead and ironically the best bond movie was the one that went differently than the usual formula: casino royale.

I am glad Craig is telling them to fck off as the bond movies are just marvel comic book films, quips and no real drama, rinse and repeat. Factory made cinema for the culturally bankrupt.

I thought they should have gotten Michael Fassbender or Henry Cavill.

I liked Skyfall but it would be nice to see another film like On Her Majesty's Secret Service where the plot is believable and Bond does actual spying. OHMSS is still the best Bond film in terms of being an actual spy movie.

....The original creator sat down with an artist and explicitly told the artist how he wanted Bond to look. His skin color is also mentioned in the books.

edit: I don't think it's a money issue. He probably just grew tired of playing Bond.
