Deadlifts built my abs like nothing else srs. Guess its like overloading your core with heavy as fuk weight; also yeah will give you a strong base in general, especially helpful when you get a bit older.

We're all going to be in pain, walking with a cane, needing our grandsons to feed us chicken noodle soup at some point. Might as well be savage AF while we still can.

Deadlifts are great for people with absolutely no impairment, tightness, and other form hindrances. If you have anything of that sort, do not deadlift

It's funny how quick people are to make excuses for things they aren't good at rather than putting their head down and putting in the work to get better.

Good luck being good at anything in life if that's your general philosophy.

a deadlift is a functional every day movement. If you cant do a deadlift without hurting yourself you need to address your mobility issues.

I guarantee someone doing proper deadlifts will have far less back pain in their future than someone who sits at a desk all day long and does only bro lifts in the gym.

There really isn't aesthetically speaking and for muscle growth. Lots of other less harmful and dangerous exercises out there. As I said, the friend of mine who was on the US power lifting team for years no longer does them. He killed his back doing them and says all they do is grow your waist and hips out wider....so not aesthetic.

I definitely think there is truth to that and I drop them pre contest but I think just for optimal posterior chain function it's important. Many people don't properly activate their posterior chain which will hamper other movements. Also Alot of people have major soft tissue restrictions in the lumbodorsal fascia and performing proper deadlift with a braced neutral core can prevent issues like bulging discs.

The only muscle they develop particularly well is low lats imo

All I do now are weighted hypers and SLDL's with KB's.. usually with relatively high reps and moderate weight. Long gone are the days of going for my 1RM.

Lower back is feeling great BTW.

if you dont incorporate any mobility, dont bother stretching everyday and dont regularly do myofascial release work, then you should NOT deadlift heavy.
