I never said the system in the US was good. I'm saying the idea of this European system where it's roses compared to the US is a joke and, even worse, it's not sustainable. The entire EU is on the brink of collapse and if it wasn't for Germany, it would probably already be there. You can't have 2-3 countries supporting the rest of the leeches and Europe is finding that out now. Add in massive immigration where no one works but uses the system and you have a recipe for disaster. Welfare states are not sustainable and your "free" health care is a part of that.

Also, as I said, the "free" healthcare in the US (VA system) is the worst health care you can possibly have here.

The US was on the brink of collapse not that long ago and if not for absurd bailouts we'd be fuked too. I'm not seeing your point, what are you arguing for then if you think both systems are terrible?

Did you actually read the article? I think you only looked at the part about people in the top tax brackets. Scroll down and you'll see that people making 'average' salaries have quite different tax percentages.

"These tax rates apply to single people with no children, on an average salary for their country.

UK - 24.90%
USA - 22.70%

The following tax rates apply to married couples with two children.
UK - 24.9%
USA - 10.4%"
