People make a big deal out of that debt.
19K is very manageable with a 50K salary.

The red flag is that she's living way above her means and likes to show off/waste money.

If I don't hear OP telling us a story about her paying for an experimental chemo for her mother then I will suggest that you leave her.

that kind of debt is a big deal for people because 4/5 people have no sense of financial responsibility. combine that with the fact that we still continue to f*ck these girls and it becomes a huge deal because that's a sword we can fall on.

She could be very responsible and then had horrible life events happen to her, we don't know the whole story. In that particular case, the debt wouldn't be much of a deal.

But let's be honest, there's 98% chance she's just has no sense of financial responsibility.

LOL I bet she's making minimum payments while living with her family and not paying rent.

Just imagine what this leech would do if you took on her debt and she got more credit available to spend.

if that was the case i'm SURE op wouldnt be as concerned. sometimes bad things happen to good people. and sometimes (and more often than not) people make shortsighted decisions that impact their futures. this seems like that sorta scenario.

Yeah she may pay it off but it will take 10-15 years, maybe longer if your state has high cost of living and income tax.

She might be able to clear the car payment, not the others. she can hit all min payments and in 10 years, she will owe n=more in student loan and CC.

Lol at people with debt

Private Uni = Paid Off
Car = Paid Off
Credit Cards = Monthly Balances always paid off

Credit Score = 799

Its almost time to buy a duplex, live in one side and have some sucker live in the other and pay off my mortgage for me after I jack up the rent lawl.

Then once wife finishes school and lands her job in PT, she can buy a second duplex where we do the same since she wont be on my mortgage loan.

Going to be nice to have people paying off all my expenses in life.

The 19k CC debt is the kicker, that is an ABSURD amount for those financials, when I met my wife she has $2500 because she had to live on her own for a bit while going to school and I thought that was a lot.

Luckily my wife had a full ride scholarship so that was the only debt I acquired from her.

can you HONESTLY say you are debt free from smart spending and not the parents picking up tabs? Bcuz the odds are stacked against you. 32:1

20k car debt... Would break up with her at this point. Shows her priorities, need to spend, and lack of critical thinking as it makes it impossible to pay the student loan off ands lock the two of you out of home ownership even longer.

19k credit card debt... WTF she can't control her spending and never will, run run run.
Dud you are spot on bruh. I had a bunch of student loans (85k) like that but I paid them down a chit ton. When they were high like that. I would never think of adding more debt to the debt I already had. I drove practical cheap vehicles and budgeted. I paid the loans down 1k a month doing that. All of this while paying rent because I don't live near family.

Vehicle loan - unnecessary. Especially 20k. Seriously get a freakin junker or get a freaking cheap ass Ford Fiesta or something.

19k in credit card debt is the BIGGEST problem! The interest insane on those. Their is no way she is paying that off lol.

If she was going to have any other debt I can understand some sort of Mortgage because she could basically get that money back. Obviously she probably would never have passed the Debt to Income ratio but still.

I'm lucky that the girl I found is very financially responsible and frugal. She also has zero debt whatsoever. I don't have to worry about her at all. She freaks out if her bank acct. gets anything lower than 20k.

Yea she's not going to be able to do it by herself with her other living expenses. She would have to have someone else pay for her housing for her to be able to take care of that debt in any reasonable time frame. That's 5k interest on the CC debt alone annually.

OP already stated that she lives with her parents and only pays $200/month towards everything. Makes the red flag even bigger and brighter.
