Medieval peasants lived good lives but we were brainwashed by people that it was bad because of anti Christian/anti European propaganda.

The truth is, peasants had 4 months off every year. They wore colourful clothes and their houses were clean.

Today, we dread Christmas because we barely get time off and we're stressed from all the extra work. But for medieval peasants, they spent weeks partying and drinking celebrating Christmas and Easter.

Everyone was Christian and white and they lived much happier lives than we do today.

I actually don’t dismiss this claim out of hand

Irrefutable facts include:

-no social media/screen addictions
-no microplastics
-no lifelong debt traps
-no theft by inflation since money was actual money
-any involvement in “war” was more than likely for the direct purpose of defending your homeland, not some ideologically driven service to a foreign power you don’t give 2 fucks about (yes yes the crusades)

Possible downside include
-no immunisation from preventable communicable diseases
-high rate of death at childbirth for mothers and children
-probably no real disability or health insurance or technology

However if you survived being born and were reasonably healthy then I presume that however many years you got to live were relatively happy

Overall I wish all technological progress could have stopped the day Street Fighter II was launched in arcades.

Think about it, it makes sense.
