It's awsome if you can afford it. No relying on other people to do what you want, in your own time. Whenever I go travelling with my gf, as nice as it is to have her around, I have to make so many accommodations for her since she is a low energy person that can only do one day of activity before needing a rest day.

Plus you can make ad-hoc plans with other people as a solo traveller, then fuck off and do your own thing again.

It's kinda what I'm doing, it's pretty nice. I'm choosing to work while I travel, so I'm getting paid to see the world. I'm in Antarctica right now, next I'm planning on going to an island near Japan for 3 months.
