Once you stop competing you eliminate all leverage against you

Because that's how society is designed

To make you compete against others

Compete for jobs (that's why you have to apply to tons of places and interview against other candidates)

Compete for resources/money

Compete for power and authority over others

Even compete against other men for a desirable woman

But once you stop competing you buck the system

You become a glitch in the matrix

You're no longer just another cog in the machinery competing against other cogs

There's no more leverage to be used against you to entice you compete to obtain things you no longer care about

Think about the muti-millionaire who still works hard

Despite his wealth he's still leveraged to keep on working hard to maintain that wealth or increase it

He will never be truly free

Just a hamster running perpetually on a more expensive wheel than the other hamsters

It's easiest to compete until you make it, then relax and let whoever wants to keep competing battle each other

I agree with this entirely. What I've decided to do is find certain niche tasks that nobody else is doing(and have a super high barrier to entry), so I have no competition. Life is much better this way.
