Smartphone -- the most addictive drug ever engineered and approved of by mega corps/society

Smartphone/digital connectiveness is the most addictive drug ever created in the history of human civilization. Every mega corp has a financial interest in keeping people addicted and engineering a more and more addictive product. Society basically sees nothing wrong with this drug -- because most everyone is already an addict. Also a drug that is hoisted on children from basically the time they can hold a bottle on their own.

The matrix snuck up on us while we were busy thinking it simply allowed us to discuss every other topic under the sun.

You realise this is exactly what a junkie/addict would say about their addiction right? Not really a moot point as much as it is case in point.

You might be able to give it up as an individual, but without government involvement society wouldn’t be able to 100%.

You equate addiction with something negative. I'm addicted to caffeine and exercise as well, and I don't perceive a negative impact on my life, so I have no intention of trying to quit either of those either. An addiction doesn't have to be negative.

that's the thing -- tech has all the money to engineer their drug in a way that your own mind can't even interpret how or if it's harming you. virtually no one on this drug they can't put down sees any downside. perfect drug.
