This is obviously the reason we started bombing them in the first place. Because we want to get them back onto doing oil trades in dollars. Same with Venezuela.
If all oil worldwide is traded in dollars, Inflation will decrease again and things will be in very good shape economically for the US.

The demise of both Saddam and Gaddafi were preceded by them accepting currency other than the petrodollar for oil.
Every time a country in the Middle East tries this shit, the US is like “nope” and makes an excuse to fuk them up.

Deficits are meaningless in a fiat currency world. Inflation is caused by a chain of events where the cost of goods rises, and in turn employers raise wages to account for the new environment. True inflation doesn't take place in supply shocks, because employers cannot raise wages without a corresponding increase in the money supply to allow consumers increased wages during supply shocks.

To everyone saying this is due to petrodollar, I actually think the bigger play being made here is containment of China. China has become really good at non-kinetic warfare the past few decades, primarily economic warfare, while the US has floundered (IMO).
I am not dismissing the petrodollar argument, I just think it is less important than what it once was given the myriad of other economic tactics we've seen used over the years. It is just one tactic in an overall broader strategy of maintaining US hegemony.

"The move on Monday marks the most sweeping rollback of American oil sanctions against Iran since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, reversing years of pressure designed to cripple Iran’s economy, and is expected to deliver billions in oil revenue for the Iranian regime."
So we bombed iran to get them to use US dollars when we were the one preventing them since 1979? Lmao. Bunch of remedial fucks.....🤡🤡🤡

Panama canal fell out of the news, but China was borderline controlling it. We all forgot that Trump was labelled a bully for saying we should use our military to take it back.
Cuba has always been friendly to China due to communism and is now experiencing blackouts as a result of US applying pressure.
Neither Panama or Cuba have oil, yet geographically are hugely important to the US. You can probably come up with an argument how they are loosely related to petrodollar, but that would be a stretch IMO.

The goals of this are not just to limit China, but also to tamp down on leftwing movements worldwide.
Quietly over the past 18 months, most of the South American governments have elected right wing presidents. And I would imagine Brazil and Venezuela and Cuba are next.

Saudi arabia has recently said that they might start excepting yuan for oil payments. Russia already is accepting yuan for some of its oil payments because sanctions. The whole reason why Brics was set up is because they're trying to create a secondary payment system outside the US dollar because US sanctions are used to crush economies by preventing them from using the dollar.
The Iran war has nothing to do with the petro dollar. We're not forcing Iranians to use US dollars, it just makes their life much easier in the current international financial system. Smh.....

And India and China actually are bitter rivals. China built mega-dams in Tibet for 2 reasons: 1) Electricity 2) as a water bomb to flood India into oblivion if war breaks out.
BRICS has always been a farce.

Expand the country list to Canada and look at how much China has infiltrated their government positions. It is not a coincidence they are getting bent over a barrel when it comes to trade with the US due to them cozying up to China.
Once again, focus on petrodollar all you want, but don't become myopic and miss the other non-kinetic tactics being played.
