Was always into this type of thing. I haven't been anywhere but I once snuck into a school during the summer. A window was unlocked and I'd just go inside and explore hoping to not get caught by some janitor.

Geocaching is a great way to explore.

Like I shared in the other thread, all kinds of abandoned buildings in my area. We used to break in through windows or sometimes by climbing up sketchy fire escapes attached to old high rises. A friend of mine was a photographer so we’d always try to get on the roof and catch the view. The dude was a gifted bullshitter and even got us into occupied office towers by manipulating security.

One time we walked past a random guy downtown wearing an employee badge, my friend stopped him and made small talk, asked his last name, ended with a handshake. Then we immediately walked to the guy’s office building and pretended to be his nephews visiting from out of town. Security let us walk right through srs. Then we found a stairwell and went up to the roof where all the radio antennas and shit were.

As far as the abandoned buildings though, some places were surprisingly clean, just empty. Other places were absolutely filthy, covered in broken glass, heroin needles, trash and smelled like death. You’d also be surprised at how pigeons will make their homes in these old buildings and absolutely blanket the entire place in bird shit.

It was a thrill though and always cool to find artifacts like 80s calendars frozen in time or old machinery. Empty churches were awesome.

I haven’t done it since my early 20s and no longer have the desire, but those urban exploration days were some good times mane.
