Why are games every 6 or 7 days in the World Cup?

These guys really need a week off after running around the field for 90 minutes? This is one of many reasons I can't take soccer seriously. Meanwhile baseball players play every single day fouling balls off their shins, getting HBP, diving on defense, sliding on offense, etc.

Not to mention Americans ignored it every prior year but because it's now in America it's all you hear about. If you're one of the Americans obsessing over soccer because the World Cup is hosted here this year you are a loser.

Unpopular opinion, the World Cup should have been able to hold the championship game within the next week if they weren't pussies dragging it out
